I say that UT Dragoon is the BEST figure of the year with Assaultus being a close contender. Roadking is quite good but not as good as the other two.

TW Knight Orion looks promising too.

 

Difficult to say, but it has taught me one thing: I've only bought three new moulds this year! Honestly, I didn't realise how many of the figures I'd picked up were older moulds that I needed to complete my collection, or just straight up repaints. Of the genuinely new 2019 moulds:

Transform Element TE-01/TE-01B OP Leader (take your pic, or have both!)
Fanstoys FT-29/FT-29T Quietus (again, take your pic - I have issues with it, but a number of those were addressed by the repaint)
Fanstoys FT-28 Hydra (not perfect, but it looks the part and I appreciate the effort, even if it's a bitch to transform)

Umm... I'm struggling now. Hoodlum wouldn't be on any 'best of ' lists. I think the next unique 3P mould I have on order is Jabber, or perhaps Hunk depending on which ships first. Doubt we'll see Acoustic Wave this year and the other stuff I've pledged to buy is from Takara.

Anyway, the TE-01 mould is the clear winner for me.

 

1. X-Transbots Neptune - the best 3rd party Seaspray and perhaps the best X-Transbots figure so far!

2. Transform & Rollout Agent Meister - imho the best looking 3rd party Jazz and a car mode that even the mighty TT might fail to better.

Damn, it's been a slow year. Or rather it's been a slow year for someone who (so far) hasn't been tempted by any of the scramble city combiners.

I dont disagree that Roadking could or should be tops for 2019, but as for the "nothing compares" or "come close" part, do you not own FT Maverick and TE-01?

 

Does it matter? Some people are recommending figure(s) that are not released yet

Iron Factory Tyrant / Megatron - pretty sure that was out the start of the year
Fanstoys Roadking/ Motormaster

Very underwhelming year for me, but there were a few releases that satisfied me:

MMC Zinnia
Fanstoys Quietus (But that's from last year I think)
CBB Devastator

That, sadly, is about all I saw that I wanted this year and has already been released.

 

I haven't picked up 10 figures this year yet*. Just do the best three at the end of the year like normal.

*I think... when did the last three Zeta Aerialbots come out?

 

Will Assaultus even be complete before year's end? If not, at best you could nominate one of the team members that did make a 2019 release.

 

Yeah it was definitely a slow year for me too. Planet X Ismenios is my top pick probably. Yes it counts as a 2019 release, it released so late in the year most people got it in January. I think BBTS got their shipment on December 31st from what I browsed on the thread.

Other than that amusingly enough Planet X Kadmos is my new favorite. Not gonna lie, I've found planet x's other offerings somewhat lacking, got Asclepius for $35 and hes probably the figure I regret buying 2nd most. But this new line? They might have me for every purchase.

 

Or just wait for the thread we've done every December since 2012 and cast your nominations and vote then.   That way you get a nice write-up too.
