Yeah I know this is the KO thread, but @Max Tower 's question -- to which we were both responding above -- asked about the "original set," which I took to mean the original Iron Factory version not the KO version.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I was asking about the stands on the originals in case replacing the stands was more expensive than the price difference between the originals and the KO - especially if I can use a $5 voucher on each of the original sets and get $15 off and would only be able to do that once on a gift set it might be advantageous to buy the originals - unfortunately it seems both versions have their personal quirks to be concerned about - I've not bought either yet in case someone releases a repaint then I can take that into consideration too with what I choose to buy - the stands is another useful data point though.

 

All the pictures of PT05 Bruticus has one of his antennas bent. Haven't personally owned either the IF's Bruticus or Baldigus, but I'm pretty sure this isn't articulation right? Can any of you guys with PT05 in hand confirm that whether or not any of the antennas are bent or not?

 

The antennae are a soft plastic or rubber. They do bend. It isn't hard to get them standing straight.

 

Laugh all you want, but i'm gonna ask anyway...anyone know where i can get a replacement part for this set because i screwed up?

oooh I feel ya buddy... *almost* cracked the hip ball off Brawl to get his leg loose the first time transforming him, for some reason, and gave it stress marks. So I laced the peg base with super glue, and added a bit of oil to the ball and I really hope it continues to hold, but thems the risks to the nature of our toys.

I also shaved some of the waist ratchets down in vortex and blast off. Too scary to just power through.

anybody know how to straighten the antennae up?

 

Transform him to truck mode. The antenna will wedge around a piece that will naturally straighten them. I left my torso pieces in trailer mode for about 6 days and the bend was all gone. Or you could use a hair drier if you're impatient.

 

If I recall mines was a little bent too and all I did read just put in warm (not boiling water! Lol) and bent it back lightly in place. Also I painted my eyes red on my copy and makes a hell of a difference. Hope that helps.

 

Wrap the whole figure up in a tea towel or hand towel or hold the specific part only it in an oven mitt over a boiling kettle for 10 second then it will make the plastic pliable enough to move them straight then either transform it to vehicle mode postion or just hold it until it cools. same thing works for frozen hinges or joints too. Try not to get labels or paint near the steam though. to much steam can loosen paint it only takes moments to work and usually the paint doesn't have the time to loosen. Steam is dangerous though so dont try to do it bare handed or you might scold yourself. and don't use an actual steamer on plastic it's way to powerful and will destroy your toy.

Yep, I would buy it pretty quick too. Maybe even a G2 repaint as well. Kinda surprised nothing has been announced yet. This ko set has been out awhile now
