The comics really make me regret missing Thrilling 30 and Combiner Wars.

 

Been taking some shots for a little 'IDW relationships' series. Inevitably, many of them fit in here.

 

This is very much how my lost light crew looked last March I like the use of what you have available, my collection has changed a lot since then still not completely the most accurate versions but that doesn't bother me as I generally prefer other versions of the figures. I'll put my gang up soon on here.

 

I'm thinking of starting one of these (a Lost Light collection)...just not sure where to start!

 

Well they are all over the place ... but the reissue tyrantron and upcoming ravage ? Or wait and see if flametoys will get to the whole crew .

 

Flame toys stuff does look amazing.. and I'm really not all that bothered by alt-modes.

 

The model kits are fine , little elbow grease needed if you want them to shine . But they are giving us megs and drift soon . And with siege ... there’s rung . So there’s that

 

Yeah I think I'll try a model kit. The more premium pieces look amazing...but they have a jaw dropping price tag to go with it!

 

And they rarely transformed in the comic books  
I haven't had any of them in-hand, but they really look cool, and the articulation is impressive.

 

Indeed that's part of why non-transforming action figures make sense when it comes to MTMTE/Lost Light.

 

I reckon start with the main base characters and work your way out gradually to the more background characters if there important enough to you. Then depending on your budget you can get them quite cheap for acceptable stand ins or theres some really nice accurate models but will cost you. I started with a genarations size line but now more masterpiece size is what I've ended up with

 

I do hope they will do the whole crew for the model kits . For reference if you’re curious about the size and as for the build quality , it’s on par with action figures. Jhund The Jester on Instagram: “Idw optimus Prime model kit , assembled and shaken not stirred” I gave it a pretty rough shake test , nothing falls off . Can’t say the same for Bandai .

Hes a battlemaster, so not great if you want a scale figure.

 

Yeah, I was kinda bummed by the news of his size, especially since the eyebrows headsculpt is dead on.

 

I just goggled him that is a shame hes spot on sculpt wise, meant to be a small weedy fella but yes bit small. Good for a legend collection! Thats ok did fancy a making a non transforming custom was gonna use a star wars droid for a base

Actually I did take these the other day but since then done a few repainting tweaks and swapped a few characters around

Not sure how Optimus ended up in there but I suppose technically ok ashe had a drink at Swerves once, I have a combiner wars Ultra Magnus but after I got the masterpiece Magnus there was no competition really, since then I have only been collecting MP transformers and a lot of the chug/genaration line I have are just not cutting it for me.
Like Skids I wanted so bad but when I got him i was so disappointed one of his arms is floppy as hell no amount of nail polish will stiffen it plus hes forever falling over even with putty in his feet wells! I've only just noticed he is leaning against Prime for support lol. So I've resculpted the head on my alternator one and given him a repaint for the part instead. Still not happy with the head so may try something else with it yet
I was using the old generations Rodimus but now using MP Hotrod, although very tempted by SXS Hot flame as he really looks the part.
Perceptor was Titans return but recently ordered Planet x more MP size and gets some really sick poses I love the whole idw story build on him.
Rewind I painted white areas and red dot for his camera just little things that matter to me really

Also seen a Chromedome MP size same as Titans return I might get but when it comes to Cyclonus I'm a bit stuck as I like the kit got for him that came with Tailgate too much. I looked at the combiner wars version of him earlier but already have the Silverbolt mould hes based on which doesn't do much for me tbh.
