The black headsculpt never bothered me much... partially.

I got him x2, and he is what I wanted and expected.
This series is good enough that I usually double dip on the deluxes.

He needs more red paint like in the arms or something.

Can't help but think how those 5mm holes on his shoulders are perfect for a "hanging door" add-on; as his original design had.

Really happy with this guy, I like him more than Sideswipe.

I definitely got one with some bad mold degradation. Had to be Floor polished a LOT, and something's gone wrong with his molding because his legs do NOT want to hold together right in vehicle mode, and I really don't know what to do to fix it.

My Lost Light shelf finally has a Red Alert! I really dig this guy. It's my first experience with the mold. Both modes look great and the transformation is perfect. Knees are a bit loose, but otherwise the joints are excellent on mine. He could use a little more paint here and there, but that's a nitpick.

Shame about the lack of a shoulder cannon, though. I see many of you gave him Sideswipe's, but I don't have Sideswipe. Anyone know of another suitable cannon for Red Alert? I'd rather not buy a figure just for the accessory.

I simply took a 3D printed gun I had, cut off the end, sprayed it white, and glued Sideswipe's missile to the end of it. The 3D peg needed sanding to get it thin enough to stick into the shoulder slot, but in the end, it's a fully functional shoulder cannon now.

    (I then used a G1 rocket for Swipe's cannon)

See, I had the Universe molds for Red Alert, Sideswipe, and Sunstreaker and I think this one is much better. Nice proportions, stellar looking in both modes, and an absolute joy to flip back and forth. I do agree that the Universe mold fit Sunstreaker much better than the other two characters. Which makes sense.

I'm in agreement. Got Red Alert two weeks ago and this figure is pretty fantastic, just like Sideswipe. The biggest thing for me is that they NAILED a G1 Masterpiece style look for the robot mode which is just dreamy. The Universe mold ain't bad but it doesn't look nearly as G1 as these guys do, which is my no.1 criteria in what I want for Transformers. That's the reason why I'm replacing my CHUG collection with Siege figures.

I got my "Amazon preordered" Red alert today & I like him. For now he's kitted out with SixGun Gear (pretty good color match IMO) & Smashdown.

    Sorry, No pics for you.

I’d agree. I’ve owned both molds. Siege is better. My only complaint is that the chest flap is a bit touchy and may not stay tabbed in if he’s just been sitting a while. But the universe mold had its issues too.

One toe was super stiff when I opened mine. I was scared I would break it, and it was difficult to ease it down; but I managed it.

My only complaint is the solid black windscreen and the white elbows that should have been red like on the back of the packaging. Otherwise he’s completely fine and I’d like to see a Clamp Down / Tigertrack / Deepcover three pack or something, as well as a Cybertron Hot Shot repaint.

Well there he is with all the upgrades. Still might get a better shoulder cannon for him yet though.

I'm still waiting for some 3D printer person, or Toyhax, to take advantage of the 5mm ports on his shoulders and create the hanging doors he has in bot mode.

Mine wasn't too terrible, but it is noticeably slightly looser than my Sideswipe, which IMO was absolutely perfect in that regard, with nothing too tight nothing too loose. Well, and the flaps on the side don't quite peg in perfectly into the arms after transforming to car mode, but it's barely noticeable, and even then you have to flip it upside down and look at the underside, and even then you might not know anything is "wrong" unless comparing to SS.

"Anyone know of another suitable cannon for Red Alert?"
The cannon? No, sadly, but the "missile" itself you apparently get several of the exact same accessory with Six Gun. I know, what good is a missile without the "launcher"... Oh well, at least RA can hold his gun+lightbar=axe as an axe unlike Prowl who still had to hold his as a gun.

My wife picked him up for me for my predominantly Lost Light shelf. Here’s a picture for scale if anyone is interested to see how he sizes up (he’s in the corner next to Hound).

As far as repaints go, this guy is pretty…lame. Since he shares essentially the same color palette he doesn’t look hugely different from Sideswipe even with a (subtle) new head sculpt and light bar. Just feels like the most plain, by-the-numbers redeco they could’ve done.

    I like his gun though.
