Woke up this morning and was worried my schedule was thrown off on account of the clock saying it was ten minutes past the hour, leaving me wondering why my alarm failed. It usually takes me an hour to go from waking up to out the door to my job, but as I'm shoving down breakfast I realize why my alarm "failed"... ...I woke up at 5:10. My alarm is for 6:00.
Will have the last laugh for scammers. Changed my voicemail greeting to say that my number is the number of a federal investigator. That should get them to stop.
Watching When Harry Met Sally. There is a running gag where she does complex specific orders on things. Like pie ala mode but the pie heated, ice cream on side no top, whip cream but only if it is real... etc Well there is a montage bit with VO of them talking and them doing their routines. One shot they are on a dinner date at a chinese place. Through the window we can see her making a complicated specific order with hand gestures. The waiter gives a huge eye roll to look over at Harry who just shrugs.
A line in Parenthood (1989) just caught me off guard. Rick Morranis's wife is a teacher. He is trying to win her back after she leaves him. She tells him no and goes to start teaching the class. The line is "We are way behind because of yesturday's bomb threat.." WTF? Bomb threat? That comes out of nowhere and is never mentioned again. Why not say something like "Fire Drill" or "School Assembly". Why of all things is the line Bomb Threat?
