I almost gave up on finding Hightower at my local store knowing that they barely stock up on any TF figures until I went to the city, might as well check out some games in this store. Walk pass the Transformers section and in a small gap buried between some other toys, I see that face on the side of the box and the number 47. Oh man, I felt like a kid again!!!
Time to hunt down SS Ramage and SS Longhaul

 

Dude that's metal!! Makes an even better TLK Hot Rod than the actual toy he got. I wish we got these kinds of creative repaints on the side with SS, the only thing that comes close is Thundercracker...

Is SS movie 1 prime the same thing as DOTM without the trailer and some accessories?

 

They are the same save for the ab piece and some paint details. 07 version has clear plastic for the windshield chest whereas DOTM has silver. DOTM has some metallic orange plastic in some areas like the arms

Just my opinion but that thing looks WAY too big even for evasion prime, let along SS Prime who is smaller.

OMG now I want a SS Reedman so badly! He could just transform into a flat thing like a credit card so I could keep him in my wallet!

Awesome find! Also, I love how the twist ties on Hightower go right over his face like he's so savage you have to hold him back!

Oh man I remember going around to walmarts in 07 hoping to see anything Transformers for the awesome new movie that was coming out, then FINALLY I turn the corner in one and BAM, a whole side of an aisle with nothing but brand new Transformers! I got leader prime and the barricade/bumblebee 2-pack to start that day (I had already gotten voyager Starscream off ebay a month earlier, and it's been a tradition to get at least one movie figure early on ebay with every movie since).

This price breakdown made me consider, if DNA Design essentially just ignored the existence of SS-44 and just made a DOTM kit for SS-32 that came with a replacement ab piece, and came with the jetpack and guns, all for around the same price at their PuP kit, I'd be all over it.

Well the 4Ever tri-barreled ion canon costs $50 and goes with $50 - $100 TFs.

























But I know that the 4ever one has 3A/Prime1 level details.

After fiddling around with Dropkick so much, Trying so hard to transform the doors, pairing it with Shatter and Watching Justin Theroux clips with him, all I can say is...





By far the best Studio Series Deluxe figure to me. Unless it changes with Studio Series Soundwave.

 

Yes, the only differences are that Movie 1 Prime (SS 32) comes with one blaster and no other accessories, and has the original chest as opposed to the silver chest that the DOTM figure has.

Also, the DOTM one has pins in place of a friction hinge joint that SS 32 had on a part that was prone to popping off.

 

There was some conversation about the Dr. Wu tri-barreled blaster so I thought I'd get mine out and have SS-32 hold it. I think it looks pretty good for a giant rifle.

Score! Walked into Target this morning just as they were freshly opening cases to stock the shelves. Grabbed Hightower, Dropkick, and Drift. Also saw KSI Boss in person for the first time so now he's on my list lol.

Each Deluxe excels in their own way.

Hightower is the kookiest (in a good way).

Drift has an amazing robot mode.

Dropkick has an awesome transformation. My only complaint with him is loose hips, which are fixable.
