i mean the separate bots. I'm doing a massive repainting of them and want to make them MP like, but the hands are hurting it....

 

TF Source has these on sale today for $110 and 3x Source Points. I figure its as close to an MP Superion that I'll ever be able to afford, so I jumped on it. Plus I got 315 source points to boot!

 

Back to 109... damn good price.

I only wish JJ did more. I don't feel like these sold as well as they should have. They're amazing. I would absolutely kill for an improved Defensor.

I guess the reason why these didn't sell well was because they were thought to be just straight upscales of the Combiner Wars figures and nothing more? And yes, a Defensor, Computron, and Bruticus made in this fashion would have been nice.

 

You can't beat that price with a nightstick. This is a REALLY good set. I already had both the Hasbro and Takara CW figures but this is significantly better in every way in addition to being oversized. It also scales perfectly with the official Devastator and Predaking figures.

I actually think it's weird that this is referred to as a KO at all, given that NONE of the figures share ANY molded parts with the original figures. Both the robot modes and altmodes have been completely redone to be significantly more screen accurate. The only thing that was copied was the engineering, and that alone generally does not relegate something to KO status (otherwise AOE Hot Rod would just be a Lockdown KO). This is "3rd party CW style Superion"... NOT KO.

 

I'll have to disagree on one part of them being better..... the sculpt. I miss the sculpt from those CW figures. While the more simple bot modes work, the faces.... man.... I would kill for a group of OS heads to pop onto these guys.

 

Yeah, you're right there... the original heads have way more character. But these ones ARE more show accurate though... down to looking kind of bland and generic, LOL

 

While I love my jet commander, I have to disagree with you... it IS a KO.

upscaled, modified, etc... still a ko of cw.

Better in every way, but it's not an original product.

I just want JJ to do bruticus, so I can retire my os warbotron. The asthetics just don't vibe with all my other titans now.

That would be good. I went TFC Hades for my Liokaiser. Tough transformations, but the desired look was achieved.

 

I would like to see what JJ could come up with for a better proportioned OS CW Menasor. Motormaster is fine in bot & alt mode, but that torso mode could really do with an overhaul.

 

Use the same feet as Superion. Somehow figure out the knees so the tanks turn sideways. Integrate Swindle as Jaguar for a gun or backpack or something. Include a Death Cobra because you're going to need to use that mold again for Blades and Vortex.

 

Actually, sorry to keep bumping this thread, but @DEED do you happen to know the designers at JJ? I'm just asking because you worked on very similar projects.
