Dueling launch coasters near HTTYD? No way that isnt intentionally going to homage Dueling Dragons somehow.

Nice, but that design seems to have the Hotel too prominently located (if that makes sense. Honestly, I know what I'm thinking, just can't put it into words).

Also, would anyone be mad if the Dueling launch coaster was a relocated Dueling Dragons? I would be fine with that. I enjoyed that ride.

And a question for California peeps. Is traffic from the Disneyland area to Universal Studios Hollywood better on a Thursday or a Saturday or Sunday?

It wouldn't be a relocated DD, since DD was straight up scrapped on-site. It would be at best a spiritual sequel.

    Fair enough.

At least somebody seems to be learning to not do what Disney did when it comes to Galaxy's Edge. On a semi-related note, for my family's trip there this September, it sounds like we're probably going to be skipping that entirely as we're going to concentrate more on California Adventure and the halloween stuff in general as we've never been at the parks in Autumn (living on the other side of the Mississippi relative to Disneyland has that effect after all).

I am all for a Nintendo theme park section, but I'm also rather confused. How did Nintendo merit its own portion in a movie themed amusement park, when its only had 1 awful movie and a handful of fun cartoons?

I think it might have started with Universal trying to compete against Disney potentially branching out from Wreck-It Ralph indirectly making a ton of known video game franchises potentially Disney licensable. While Bowser was in the first film, Mario only gets name dropped and doesnt appear in the film whatsoever.

Plus, it's a relatively unexplored idea (closest I can think of before this was Sonic Spinball, a sponsored family spinning coaster at Alton Towers in the UK, now simply Spinball Whizzer) that has great appeal. Who wouldn't want to do real life Mario Kart or experience the famous DK mine cart levels in coaster form?

The upcoming Mario animated movie is being done by Illumination, which Universal owns. It doesn't seem like they're doing anything other than Mario in phase 1 of the project, but it follows that if they licensed "Super Nintendo World" that means they have access to the rest. Detective Pikachu was a Toho/Legendary/Warner Bros venture, but they might still have the theme park rights to Pokemon as of the Kong deal.

Speaking of Kong, I hope they can fit Godzilla somewhere into Epic Universe. I expect miles of hallways of 4K Projectors anyway, it's Universal after all. Just put a couple hundred bucks into making one of the hallways Monsterverse themed.

Fair enough. I'd forgotten about the upcoming Mario Bros movie. May it be far better then its predecessor.

I traveled to Europe at the end of April-start of May with my ex girlfriend. The end of that sentence was the only thing that sucked about the trip. The highlights of the trip were mostly the amusement parks I went to - 2 days at Energylandia in Poland, 2 days at Phantasialand in Germany, and 1 day at Europa Park in Germany, and if we're counting water parks too, than Aqualand Koln too. They were all awesome, and nearly my first experiences with amusement parks and roller coasters (aside from a short visit to Alton Towers about a decade ago in which I didn't get to ride that many attractions, and a visit to a local amusement park that doesn't have a good selection of rides), and I totally fell in love with them.

This is my top 20 rides from that trip:
    1. Blue Fire (Europa Park)
    2. Taron (Phantasialand)
    3. Hyperion (Energylandia)
    4. Black Mamba (Phantasialand)
    5. Mayan (Energylandia) (Yes, it's a Vekoma SLC, and against all my expectations, it was awesome. I still believe most of them are as terrible as people generally say, but Mayan itself was awesome.)
    6. Wodan (Europa Park)
    7. Silver Star (Europa Park)
    8. Space Booster (Enrgylandia) (flat ride)
    9. Formula (Energylandia)
    10. Colorado Adventure (Phantasialand)
    11. RMF Dragon (Energylandia)
    12. Energus (Energylandia)
    13. Euro Mir (Europa Park)
    14. Winja's Fear (Phantasialand)
    15. Winja's Force (Phantasialand)
    16. Matterhorn Blitz (Europa Park)
    17. Apocalipto (tiny Top Spin, Energylandia)
    18. Eurosat (Europa Park)
    19. Pegasus (Europa Park)
    20. Speed (Energylandia)

I'm going back on another amusement parks (and board games) focused trip to Europe at the end of October, and I really can't wait for it. The plan is for 2 more days at Phantasialand, then 2 days at Essen Spiel (one of the biggest board gaming conventions in the world), then a 12 hour day at Toverland (Netherlands), and lastly a 12 hour day at Walibi Holland, who have a brand new RMC I can't wait to ride, it'll be my first.
Oh, and both of those parks in the Netherlands are gonna be doing Halloween with scare actors and such, so it's actually gonna be my first time experiencing Halloween really.

Probably the same as the other Very Merry Christmas decorations, but "rustic" to fit Galaxy's Edge's theme.

Thank you, for completely missing the point of my question, which was sensibly answered by someone else. I wasn't aware that this...Nin-ten-dor vidja game company was so popular.
