Wow a lot of pessimism here. I know realistically it could be close I mean very close. With overseas orders I could happen. Keep in mind the barge didn’t have that going for it.

This, this, a MILLION TIMES this.

I haven't seen an avalanche of this much TF stuff at once (between SDCC and... roughly the end of August, it looks like) since DotM or maybe even RotF launched (and I'm speaking in terms of raw numbers... in terms of actual $$$ spent, this wins). I updated my signature TF collection total from the last time I updated my website ~3 weeks ago. It's seriously up by nearly 100 since then (a majority of that is Botbots, but still). They should have done this during the annual TF doldrums in the spring.

As for personal predictions, I'm kinda bad regarding predictions, but I think it will either barely make it or barely not make it.

So of course it's either going to be a smashing success or a total and complete failure.

Is this like the Price is Right, where we have to get the closest without going over?

Anyone that supports the preorders on other sites is insane. That markup is beyond absurd. I think it falls short around 7100

I think it should make it at the last minute or at least be close with international numbers counted in , there’s a push here locally with specialty hobby shops and Weibo from the looks of things . Didn’t see that with Cookie Monster ... so

    Alright. I'll play.
9134 total orders worldwide. I see e-tailers around the world chipping in to provide this to locals.
    We should make it.

What Hasbro needs to do is provide an ACTUAL transformation video that is honest about the good and the bad instead of a flashy promo vid with a guy in costume.

I vote for this thread to be whacked. Enough threads about Unicron already. You can do this poll in the main thread under News or here...

I think everyone will be terrified and on edge and in the end his head will expload off his body and it will be over for the next 30 years.

    Not a naysayer, just realistic.

There are just over 13 days left in this campaign. There are 2,692 units folks have committed to funding this out of 8,000 needed.

13 days for 5,308 units to goal.

That is averaging about 409 new funded units per day, every day, for the remainder of the campaign.

Even with a boost of online retailers commiting to buying, this seems rather unlikely.

How many retailers will commit? 50? 100?

Right now, an average of 77 new units are committed to each day. If that holds steady, that's 1001 additional units by the end of the campaign.

That leaves 3693 for the online retailers to commit to. Even if there are 250 online retailers that commit, that's 15 units per retailer to fund this.

That's an average of $8,625.00 investment from each of those retailers, from which they won't make a decent profit, and what profit is there is over a year out.

Maybe I will be surprised. Optimistically, though, I would guess the campaign will end unfunded and between 5,500 and 6,000 units to which people committed.

As much as i want it, i almost hope it fails. That is a shitload of money i could put toward a lot of other figures. Don't get me wrong, i seriously want 1, but that is a tough price to justify considering i will have nowhere to display it.

There was never going to be a "good" time to announce and run this campaign for your wallet.

You realize it can both succeed and you still can just not get one, right? You can still just get the other figures and let this one go.

My ass they wont make a decent profit. I've seen the markup bbts and tfsource charged. Now based on what they're charging, any other site can do similarly. It's a big investment for them yes, but that's the nature of the business and they invest in cases and cases of figures and toys, many of which they sit on and dont make money back on for YEARS(when I can still easily find some thrilling 30 stuff available)

Standard mark-up in retail is like 2 - 2.5 times cost. To my knowledge, none of the online retailers are charging the $1150 - $1300 for this. And a retailer purposefully sitting on merchandise until it becomes profitable isn't a good model, because it takes up time and space for other items that could sell in the meantime.

I'm skeptical it will meet its target in the allotted time....but to those who know me that will come as no surprise.
