Not this again. The HasLab page just says 8000 backers, without listing a region. The fact that they only accept North American orders directly is incidental, because that's how Hasbro Pulse's distribution is set up.

TTMall references a "worldwide" crowdfund, and the Australian and New Zealand partner stores say that their orders will be tallied with HasLab at the end of the campaign.

8000 is the worldwide minimum. There is no separate North America/International tally.

As an international buyer, I'm waiting until the last week and then decide. I'm still unsure if it's better to have it shipped from China or UK and risk customs or buy from a local retailer in order to not have bad surprises. This is also going to cost me around $1000 in the worst case and while I can afford it I have to think carefully before committing to such an expense.

I'll be surprised if an adapter won't be offered at Shapeways.

The biggest gripe I have with a titan Unicron is that I don't think it will turn into a proper planet. I always thought that due to budget contraints it would have been either an half planet like the Armada version or a completely different alt mode like a giant spaceship or a space station. I would have accepted that if it was the only option to have a giant Unicron figure but I'm glad we are offered this option because this is the Unicron I truly want (although as I said above, I'm still not 200% sure if I $1000 want it).
Having said that, I think the more options we get the better it is, so I'm completely in favor of Hasbro doing also a $150 titan Unicron, and I think it's more likely to happen if this project get funded.

I consider this to be at least half way between CHUG and MP. It's far more complex than the titans,seems also to be more solidly built, and the level of accuracy in bot mode and planet mode is more in line with the MP line. Without having in hands I can't say with certainty how it compares with MP figures (it clearly still lacks in some areas, like articulation) but I think this is as close as a MP Unicron as we are going to get.

 

This whole “will it get backed” debate is silly in the extreme ... you honestly believe with all this hullabaloo - the meticulous, tantric-like reveal, the Warden experience along with the Mr Cool Guy with the suit production, with all that and everything else TT and Hasbro have resorted to - that they’ll then just do an about face and simply say Sept. 1st, “Nope, srry folks, we just didn’t meet the desired crowdfunding cut-off number, party’s over, nothing to see here” ... me thinks not

 

While I believe we're probably in pretty good shape, have you never seen a failed crowdfund before?

I've said it before, but the sunk-cost fallacy is a thing, you know? In other words, know when to fold'em.

Well cancellation is likely inevitable as some people would say here. And I feel the people are to blame.

 

But the final tally from international Asia backers and Japan Collectors via TT Mall has not been compiled yet. So dont be so fast to write this off and get flustered.
