So apart from the ‘96 Gamera I’ve pretty much avoided getting into Monsterarts. The line just seemed too expensive for me at the time and I was quite content to get my Godzilla fix from Neca. Now that King of the Monsters has spurned me into expanding my kaiju collection I’ve realized from the aftermarket prices these thing are going for I made a huge mistake. That said I did break down and order a Mothra. She was about twice her original retail but I’m hoping she’ll be worth it. Also did pick up the ‘99 Gamera as that was on sale at HLJ recently. I doubt I’ll be able to afford all the ones I’ve missed unless some reissues happen, but I’m sure once I receive these recent purchases I’ll be hooked on the line and try to buy whatever I can.
Haha, yeah, these things sometimes sell slow but once they are gone, the price gets insane. I'm really happy about the reissues for key figures I wanted recently. PM me which ones you are after as I've been slowly getting rid of a lot of MonsterArts since I'm thinking about only collecting monsters from the Showa era with my favorite movies from the Heisei and Millennium ones.
Basically saying coming soon meaning we should get a reveal soon before it was just the grey photo and you could not click on it.
Isn't that site run by that Naruto65 dude? If so, yeah, his site is so full of shit. Of course he is going to "update" the site to make it look like something is going to be announced, the next solicitations are going to be coming out in a few days.
i believe steven toys reviews reviewed it. Apparently its pretty good for its price, with the only real issues being paint and the wings quality control
Godzilla (2019) Poster Ver. Release Date: December 18, 2019 (JP) 15,000円 MSRP **Godzilla: King of the Monsters Limited JP Blu-ray Set Exclusive** Godzilla: King Of The Monsters [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + DVD + Figure + Booklet] [Limited Release] Movie Blu-ray
That looks pretty damn good! I'm gonna have to pass though. My Neca version looks clownish in comparison but I got that, Rodan and Mothra for less than half the price and that's good enough for me. Save my SHMA money for more desireable monsters to me like other classic kaiju.
I generally don’t care for Revoltechs because their ratchet joints don’t offer the best posablity and I often find they make the figures unstable even in neutral poses. However I would like to get a Showa Rodan or Anguirus is my collection. Would anyone recommend getting the Revoltechs or wait for Bandai to eventually maybe some day release Monsterarts versions of them? I did recently obtain the Showa and Heisei Gyaos to go with my Gameras, and they are fine for what they are, but they also go for much less than Rodan and Anguirus go for these days.
It’s not bad but you gotta admit the SHMA looks better by a lot. Particularly the way the leg articulation on the Neca has to line up perfect or you see a big flat spot. Again, not worth the price difference and I’m happy with the Neca but...
I know all things are subjective and people will like what they like, but for $25 I got a perfect Godzilla with amazing paint (those spines!) and really good articulation. I would rather have a figure where there is a "flat spot" visible in some rare poses than have him look like a turtle -which is what I feel they needed to do to enable him to look up in the Monsterarts version. I just can't stand all those cuts in the neck. The photographer for this Blu-ray exclusive version took some great pains to minimize them in these photos.
Yeah, I'm not too worried about it either way. I'd much rather buy some Kaiju from the older movies, especially baddies. I really want Orga and we all know Bandai is our only hope for stuff like that.
LoL! I don't know that at all. Both Bandai and NECA seem to mostly want to make different revs of Godzilla.
