It's clear they "abandoned" some features involving the guns. Many "almost" fit in alt mode (spots partially carved out on the guns to accommodate alt-mode bulges, mysterious slots/pegs that are unused) combined with a whole lot of moving parts and unused holes/pegs on Snaptrap's gun.

So many things "almost" work but don't. Even just doing the G1 "attack monster" modes would be very easy and allow weapon storage, but most of them you can't for "frustratingly small" reasons.

having been keeping up with this thread, any major issues with these.

 

Nothing really, in the quality sense. Just ease of use issues, like the probable need for tool assistance with the combiner joints, and the lack of useful weapon/parts storage in all modes. I think there were a few minor breakages reported earlier with Big Bite's (Skalor) fins. The usual ball socket + translucent plastic thing. As long as you take care not to pop the parts off constantly, though, they'll be fine.

Bababobo has some that say "toy reprint", which sounds kind of weird. There aren't any KOs out there or alternate versions (except the noir) out there, right?

 

No KOs. He's probably just referring to the fact that they're from the re-release batch. Which is a good thing in this case, because that means the Combiner head should have the upgraded neck joint pre-installed.

Those chicken thighs on the Taktomy one kill me.

 

A single TFC Poseidon combiner foot alone, weighs more and has more plastic, than a CW torso-bot. (and about as many moving parts!)

 

I asked him about it before I purchased mine, they are indeed the repackaged figures with the improved parts, despite saying "Recolor Ed."
