Imho the original version shown above is much better still. Holds up even after 14 years plus. Which reminds me... as much as i am indifferent to this version of Hotshot, I still am going to try and find the original 2004 Takara release down the line..
very true for scattershot by using impactor mold....im very curious on how red alert would look like using the brunt mold with some remolding and with some hands?
Well, at least it's not another repaint into Swindle? I would've appreciated Rollbar if they were going to repaint this mold into another Autobot, personally. That all said, I can't say I hate this repaint, it does work pretty well. That 3rd party upgrade that gives Hound the shield and canopy in vehicle mode would work really well for this.
There have been 5 MP Beast Wars releases, as well as various new molds in CHUG and callbacks in other toylines
Except I'm not suffering. The few figures we've gotten recently are pretty awesome, and there's been lots of fun beasts to play with from updates of figures who weren't available when I was a kid. There's been numerous UT callbacks as well. Stop whining. If y'all are mad now, just wait until CDF Red Alert ends up based on Doubledealer.
I think that was the first time I've done a honest-to-god double-take... When was the last time we had in-hand pictures before we even had test shots/renders?
Cybertron Defense Red Alert Starscream was great in Armada. Then when he came back in Energon, he was brainwashed like Demolishor, Snow Cat, and Mirage. Then by Cybertron, he twisted even further and was no longer even the same character. That’s how I put it all together, at least. No, it was Thrust’s spark that became Scorponok, not Starscream. I’m almost positive it’s hinted at in Superlink. So it would seem. Hopefully he shows up in the comic.
Between this and Galaxy Prime and the entirety of Studio Series, I finally understand what it’s like to have my childhood figures back and better than ever. I had my fingers crossed for this guy, and I can’t wait to have Hot Shot back in my grubby little hands.
I think this would have made a better Armada/or Cybertron red alert(foreign names: first aid/ first gunner)
Siege Roadbuster would almost certainly be a Leader figure. Even if he doesn't have a brute mode, something like Astrotrain's weapon crate would fit him perfectly. I can think of Armada Hot Shot, Armada Starscream, Tidal Wave, Armada Megatron, the Minicon Assault Team and Galaxy Prime off the top of my head. Now you've got CDF Hot Shot.
Yeah this…isn’t great. A car chest has never been part of Hot Shot’s design. This seems like a half-assed Botcon repaint or something from the GDO line. It’s cool to get some call backs to non-G1 lines but it be better if they actually got their own dedicated molds.
