I know. I am selling mine MISB but there's not a single day when I don't wonder whether I should just open it.

Opened up mine yesterday. I decided to pick up a few of MT's "MP style" figures to fill a couple gaps in my collection before I stopped - wanted my shelves to feel "complete" and Bounceback, Screamer and Maestro were on my hit list (now I'm just hoping for a G2 Ramjet from someone and I will be done with this madness).

Was hoping for a much more solid, fun-to-pick-up Seeker toy compared to MP-3 and MP-11 (which I love, but think MP-3 is far too fiddly to be anything but a display piece, and MP-11 is a little better).

This comes in a comically large plastic blister pack kind of thing. I know they were doing a callback to the G2 packaging but it is seriously 14" wide and 18" tall. It is hilarious but also kind of inconvenient if you want to keep boxes, since it's not really going to stack with anything else.

First impression of the figure was not good - pieces were flopping all over the place once I opened it. Wings were loose, tailfins flipped with the slightest touch, nothing tabbed into place properly despite my best efforts. Spent an hour or so fiddling with it trying to get it all secure and didn't have any luck, so I transformed it...

...without instructions or watching a transformation video.

Bravo, Maketoys. I figured this would be a nightmare to transform based on my experiences with their earlier figures (the three combiners especially). There were a couple parts that I wasn't so sure about, the way the chest came together and all, but looking at the tabs and the joints / hinges it was all very clear. Definitely felt more like playing with a toy than solving a fragile puzzle, and I really appreciate that.

Poseability in 'bot mode is outstanding. Everything tabs together to make a nice solid figure. I even said "wow" out loud when I realized how they'd done the waist swivel. Really clever design!

I haven't transformed him back to jet mode yet - maybe this evening if I get a little time to play with it - but hoping it will all come together better than it was when I first opened it. My overall impression of the mold: pretty good! Much more fun / less fragile feeling than MP-3 / MP-11. This color scheme? FANTASTIC.

So, @Chosen Prime , the question I have for you is: how about MTRM G2 Ramjet on your exclusives list for next year? :)

Had the same experience with all the alt mode wings- they we all extremely floppy and loose out of the package. I went and coated all the wing joints with future polish and they are pretty solid now.

Might as well. Give it a try before sending it on.

My only complaint is that the first should have been grey

Well, let me start by saying that I am extremely careful with my MPs. I have all 3 seekers.. no problem. Imagine my excitement and then horror when I received my package. The box was partially open because the packing tape was becoming undone. When I took it out of the box, the clamshell wasn’t even secured. I pulled out Screamer and he looked beautiful, except for the wings not plugging in all the way and his calves not wanting to plug in either. As I started transforming him, one of the tail fins snapped off and the the right pin that connects the torso to the legs broke off!!!! I was able to fully transform him and he’s beautiful, but I will never be able to transform him back to plane mode without him falling apart in half. I’m going to glue in the tail fin and it will look fine, but now I’m worried about getting the coneheads. This exclusive was expensive AF and the quality of some of the plastic feels very fragile. So disappointed. I have never had this issue with any of my maketoys products.

God, I love this guy but I hope they can make a more reasonably-sized package for a potential G2 Ramjet. Or at the very least I hope Ramjet is a Canadian TFCon/retailer exclusive so the shipping is more merciful :lol

Sadly had similar packaging / clamshell issues with mine. He'd fallen out of the very flimsy package when he arrived, which has meant a paint chip on the nosecone and a scuff on the cockpit. Grr. Still, he looks pretty nice!

@Girl Pants Honestly, the packaging is so huge it's comical. I love it because it's absurd, but it's also a total pain. I have literally nowhere to put it, and I can't put it with the rest of my MP boxes because it's a bizarre shape.

I've been thinking to find someone who wants to sell their MT Meteor box just so I have something easier to keep this in if I have to pack it up.

This I feel is the best colored. The purple cockpit and tampoed wings just pop.

If this weren't so expensive I would definitely want one. But as it is I'm weighing getting the rest of the G1 Seekers (I fucked up and bought the regular Meteor and... yeah.) so if anything is getting left out it's this one.

I finally opened mine. No regrets. In fact I think this is the best version of the mold.

I like the look of Screamer, but it's my first time with the mold and I'm seeming to have an issue with the transformation that I don't see elsewhere on the internet. It's the double hinge bar piece that rotates collapsing his pelvis into his abdomen. It seems to not "catch" and if I'm not very very careful moving him hi flops over backwards.

I'd wager a G2 conehead could be done for October's TFCon East, given they haven't released even one of the G1 coneheads yet so it seems unlikely they'd do the G2 version first, and it didn't sound like MT had time to have any MTRM exclusives ready for Toronto anyway.
