Just saw it on Facebook, I thought it was a really good custom. Personally I’d rather track down Cybertron Defense Hot Shot for a good price on eBay.
He was the Unicron trilogy version of the “kid appeal character” from 2001-2005 at a time when Hasbro had lost the right to the name bumblebee. His personality was a mix of hot rod and bumblebee. Though he usually transformed into a yellow or blue sports car, he received an upgrade into an armored car form in the latter half of transformers cybertron, which this figure is based on.
I was kinda hoping he'd get some new guns to better homage the cybertron defense toy. Maybe a redeco of Battle master firedrive could accomplish this?
Nice face jerk. Great colors. I like Hound but this mold in brighter colors really look nice. Red Alert from Ironhide? Scattershot from Impactor?
Next to no remolding or new guns. It's nice to see something outside of G1 being recognized for a change, but this is pretty underwhelming compared to Prime. Wish they would re-armor Shockwave as Shockblast or Sixshot.
Those colors really pop, but he definitely could use some shoulder cannons, a knife, and some missile pods. If only he was released in a toyline where add-on weapons were part of the play pattern...
Dude, i already have you covered on that front. But yeah, it's nice we're getting some more unicron trilogy-related stuff. Here's hoping they would do some "Minicon" themed Micromasters.
This is neat but it's a big meh from me The only Hot Shot I need to get a good update is Armada Hot Shot. Transformers Armada was basically G1 for an entire generation of new TF fans. But if Beast Wars can hardly get any recognition What hope does Armada have.
By the way, all these Galaxy updates REALLY make me want a new Override. I just wish there was a mould to make her work.
Should have called it: Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege on Cybertron Cybertron Defense Energon Hot Shot.
