They haven't yet made the molds. The prototypes aren't made with molds. And if they were already made, it wouldn't take no 18 months for the thing to be made and delivered to you.

They reiterate, yet again, on both the EB Games Australia page and the Zing page that the crowdfund is WORLDWIDE and the 8000 backer target is a WORLDWIDE target that includes ALL WORLDWIDE ORDERS, yet the news post still maintains that the 8000 backer target is US only. It literally could not be more clear. Here’s a direct quote straight from the EB Games page.

“Hasbro requires 8,000 backers worldwide and every order placed counts to this target!”

It is abundantly clear that the 8,000 backer target includes all orders worldwide. Pulse, TT Mall, and now EB Games and Zing. The news post should be updated to reflect this. Misinformation in this fanbase is prevalent to a ridiculous degree.

I hope you are correct, and that the TF fandom steps up to fund Unicron. I'm trying to think happy thoughts there!

On the Sail Barge, the project actually far surpassed the funding requirement. The minimum number of orders required was 5,000, and the Sail Barge ended at 8,810 orders, which was 176% of the required funding. There was a massive late surge of orders and the order numbers on the project ended up much higher than the minimum. I remember watching that with friends and we were expecting a squeaker, but ended up being surprised when the order numbers surged at the end.

    HasLab

I continue to predict that Unicron will get funded, but it may end up being close.

Agree completely. Seriously, I don’t know where this whole “only if the American number reaches 8,000” conspiracy even came from. Takara Mall called it a “worldwide crowdfund” multiple times on their pre-order page, and now EB and Zing are reiterating that. It must just be easier to get upset than look at the facts, I suppose. And the news post saying the 8,000 pledge target is still America-only certainly doesn’t help...

my perspective has been, if everyone has to order through hasbro anyway then it wouldnt really matter. every site, including takara, has referred to it as haslab unicron and they've all called it a global crowd fund

I’m not sure what metric you are using to claim the Barge barely made funding. Is it the same metric that shows the Red Sox barely beat the Dodgers in the World Series?

The official Hasbro pulse website ? Which states on every page that only US can order and that they ship only in US ?

There's been no word or confirmation from hasbro that all third party websites mentionned on the thread will count and will be provisionned.

Right, but all of those third-party websites are going to be ordering from... Hasbro Pulse, where it will count towards the total. Hasbro will only ship to the US, but nothing is stopping an overseas company from placing orders to somewhere in the US and then handling the international shipping themselves.

All of the orders have to count towards the HasLab total because they all have to be ordered from HasLab.

That doesn’t mean that Unicron will only be funded if the American target reaches 8,000. Pulse is a US-based site, why would they offer Unicron internationally when other countries have their own stores they can order through? Pulse ships to the US, TT Mall ships to Japan, Zing/EB Games ship to Australia, and all orders from each site feed into the 8,000 backer target.

    YouTube (Legacy):
There is nothing on the Hasbro page that says 8000 US/Canada.

"This campaign will move into production when it reaches its minimum goal of 8,000 backers. All support must be received by 11:59 PM EST on August 31, 2019. If the campaign is successful your payment method will be charged on August 31, 2019. Orders are estimated to ship in early 2021.

    *Limit of 5 per transaction."

TT's page clearly states 8000 is the world-wide number:

"Commercialized with 8,000 worldwide! In Japan, applications are now accepted at Takara Tomy Mall!"

Because Unicron's technically his baby and If his creation doesn't get the financial support it needs for mass production, he should be upset considering all the hard work and crafting he put towards him.

The main issue with this is still he\'s roughly around $600 and I feel like trying to get to that 8,000 supporters in just a months time is pushing it but what do I know I would love to see this figure made hell by the time when we get to the final days of the kick starter and he\'s close to being made I might throw some money down

Yeah, third party websites like BBTS are ordering through Pulse. But TT Mall and Zing/EB Games aren’t third party websites. I find it unlikely that TT Mall would be ordering Unicrons on Pulse and importing them from the US to sell. EB/Zing are offering Unicron “in partnership with Hasbro” (check the pre-order pages, it says that on both sites), at approximately the same price he sells for on Pulse. All the third party sites are marking him up considerably, but he’s not marked up at EB/Zing (Takara price notwithstanding, as every Transformers product has a higher MSRP in Japan).

I'm speaking to people that think the molds are 'obviously' already made. I don't know if they truly need 8000 US & Canadian backers for it to happen, but this thing doesn't already exist. But to be clear, I'm not trying to convince YOU of this fact.

Right guys, the US order total is going to go down by 2. As i'm going to cancel & reorder here with my Oz retailer.

According to the page its 8000 INTERNATIONAL backers. So all the retailers will be added together on Aug 31 it seems!

Because they have basically nothing to lose other than the time spent issuing refunds if the product isn't being made. In exchange they get to list the hottest Transformers item of the year (together with MP 44) and enjoy the increase in traffic on their website (that could very well lead to new customers and increase in sales of other items).
