I had figured that it was the other way around since it looks like Smokescreen's classic G1 cartoon head.

    If I may add-
    “No combiner ports? Instant pass.”
    “He’s not G1? Ew.”
“Don’t like it. I’ll wait for Takara’s release.”
    And my personal favourite-
“Why is it for kids? No. Bad.”

he had (more ore less depending on episode and comic artist) the same head in the comic and cartoon...
this head stylizes the design a bit more ala the Binaltech/Alternator version of Smokescreen instead of the kinda weird simple block head the animation/comic model had.

remold of prowl and prowl is decentbut the bottom half of the leg is just not designed well. I mean I have sixguns attached to make it better but it seems feeble IMO. This one doesn\'t look much better

"the head is not on a balljoint! Oh wait it is..."
    "3p is way better"
"the doors are in the way for full arm rotation!"

    My favorite.

"the color seems to be off"

Yeah, the Cybertronian analog 3 was clever. This just looks like random squiggles. Maybe it spells out "Three" in Autobesh?

Selects Smokescreen here is quite a nice repaint/retool of Siege Prowl, which is an alright figure at best.

I do wish that there's more colors at the lower torso and upper legs, instead of everything are just in black.

Indeed! Smokescreen, Bluestreak and Barricade will look amazing next to each other.

    What? I forgot Prowl?
He's the weakest of the four! I'm not getting him.

I really hate the Autobot 'language.' As someone who dabbles in conlangs, it's not even an attempt at a constructed language, but just a cypher.

Don't get me started on "fake scifi" cypher-languages and the immense retconning required to make them work. As someone else once pointed out, if they have their own alphabet in Star Wars now (itself a retcon to the original movie), what the hell does the "x" in X-wing represent?

At least doing a fakey alien design that looks vaguely like the G1 toy text was a clever solution.

How does one construct a passable language is my question. PM if this would end up off topic to reply to.

Like, Tolkien, Cameron, and Besson (the language in Fifth Element is evidently a fulledged language that can be spoken according to Luc Besson and Mila) went through the trouble to make dialects, both speaking and in writing (especially Tolkien). How do they come up with that?

    Also, what's a cypher?

I think I\'ll be getting this handsome fella out of all the recolours, and he\'ll represent in my CHUG collection rather nicely!

Pre-ordered Smokescreen and Bluestreak today. I’m passing on Barricade since there are too many G1 characters I do want to spend money on to buy movie characters.

A cipher is a 1:1 substitute for an existing alphabet. Like, character 1 represents an A, character 2 represents a B, and so on. As opposed to genuine different character sets used for foreign languages that may have one character represent two similar sounds, have no representations of certain sounds at all, may have characters for sounds that don't exist in English/German/French/whatever, or may use characters to represent syllables or entire words instead of just single sounds.

Basically, "alien" fonts that use a cipher work under the ludicrous assumption that everyone uses the same set of sounds in their languages, and use the same number of characters to represent those sounds in writing.

And if you still don't understand any of this, there's a big chance you never learned any language besides English.
