I doubt they’d go three lines without a Bumblebee, particularly if he’s in the comic.

This is a line where, for once, Cliffjumper as a Bumblebee repaint with a new head works.

They’ve teased a new Wipeout with a new Windcharger and Outback tooling evident.

They made Windblade Legends sized in the comic.

An Insecticon made a poll alongside Deluxes as though Legends and Deluxe share a pricepoint.

All signs I can see are that the minibots are being done as a kind of “half weaponizer”, probably the only way to get them more toon accurate in bot mode. Accessories that double their volume roughly. Probably higher parts count. I bet they get the ankle tilts and wrist swivels. But you’ll pay $20 a pop for them.

Signs are good this is how we’ll get Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Wipeout, Windcharger, Windblade. I’d like Huffer and Nickel to share a basic mold. I’m guessing Scamper is likely and maybe a redeco of Scamper as a Spychanger. Insecticons and Gnaw probably possible. Based on recent trends, I could see Insecticons getting a boxed set straight color redeco as Deluxe Insecticons.

I’m gonna call Brawn as the odd one out since his TR figure is near perfect. Though I’m surprised at Windcharger. (I guess he’s needed to get Wipeout and I think part of the minibot niche is that their accessories further weaponizer Titans.)

EDIT: D’Oh. Just hit me. Wipeout is of course Trypticon’s remaining partner and Scamper is Metroplex’s but Windblade is probably shrunken so she can be Maximus’ corresponding counterpart to them. So every Titan will probably get both a full weaponizer and a minibot that way.

 

Yeah I believe they are normal Autobot car height.

 

What's really weird is that these guys (the Off Road Patrol) have just dropped with a couple of UK retailers, whilst everything else post Wave 2 seems to be subject to rolling delays over here!

I wouldn't mind Huffer and Pipes "upgraded" to deluxe if the main bot stayed legends size and they got a little trailer or box to go on their back (kinda like moving vans have) that opens up to make a little battle station deal. I guess a new Bumblebee could have stuff similar to the Animated version's "Jetpack/Hydrodrive" armor to buff him (and Cliffjumper) up to deluxe. Another small Windcharger would be really pushing though, after the CW and PoTP legends and the RtS version before them.

Still have my G1 Hoist but never got Grapple, would like that remake.

Soft spot for Huffer as it was my first ever TF toy as a kid.

Currently on buying hiatus due to budget limitations, sadly.

 

I LOVE Trailbreaker. In 2nd grade a kid brought him in for "show and tell" after Christmas and I had to have him. Hell I think he and even SIEGE Hound have influenced my car buying decisions lol. They better make a sick WFC Trailbreaker, preferably at Ironhide size.

 

I'd see them as retools with new heads. Venom would probably have to be a new mold though.

If they make new Trailbreaker and Hoist they should finally be large enough.
But I hope they'll do CJ, Warpath and the Throttlebots as legends still. They're so close to having great accurate toys for all the minibots, it'd be a shame to have them change size now. They can still do them as deluxes afterward.

For what it's worth, PotP Tailgate would probably look a lot more "Earth".

There's also this misconception. Not counting redecos we've only actually had two Generations Windblade molds: Thrilling 30s from 2014 and Titans Return in 2017. All the other Windblades are from either Robots in Disguise or Cyberverse.
Windblade is clearly quite widely popular - if not with you I suspect - considering on the whole she seems to have joined the core group of Autobots as demonstrated by her primary character status in Cyberverse, not to mention in both the 2005 and rebooted IDW comic, not to mention the Star Trek vs Transformers crossover comic. I'm pretty confident in saying Hasbro views her as part of the core group of Autobots alongside Prime, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Ironhide etc at this point. Honestly it feels like only a matter of time until a live action counterpart of her turns up.

All that said, I feel like a WFC Windblade is a matter of when, not if. Just like Bumblebee and Wheeljack.
And I for one cannot wait!

This is probably from doing a MTMTE binge lately, but honestly I'd love for a WFC Tailgate that takes cues from their IDW design considering they have a Cybertronian alt mode in that comic... that and that third party one is too expensive these days  

 

Frankly, I think Trailbreaker and Hoist would work well as heavy retools of Ironhide/Ratchet, in particular adjusting the window on the front so that it's mostly armored, replacing the left hand with a gun.

The leg stripe on Ratchet and Ironhide strike me as a great place to put a tampo of Trailbreaker's side decal and the four pegs on the top are pefect for his back cannon and two smaller guns from T30.

But if you look at the tooling differences between Ratchet and Ironhide (they reuse very few parts), a very mild retool of Ratchet could work as Trailbreaker. Head, hand, new back mounted weapon, new opaque chest canopy. Some paint and you have a cartoon Trailbreaker. A lot of the details on Ratchet work as Trailbreaker if you paint them like the knee pads they gave to Ratchet (which Ironhide doesn't have).

You could give Trailbreaker those retools and then have Hoist get every retool Trailbreaker gets plus a few more. Wings and new calves.
