What other figures need rubber tires?

  2. Siege Fairlady (Prowl)

I hated ironhide's gray tires, so made new ones.

Edit: since the design to print these on a 3D printer is kept as simple as possible. They do resemble LEGO tires, they arent.

The wheel was designed by myself using SKetchup and printed in PLA
The tires are printed using TPU, which is a less degradable plastic than what normally comes with toys.

I'm working on other sets, for now concentrating on Siege figures (prime is not possible due to pins) I want these to be easily swapped without modifications.

The main reason for getting the rubber was to make repro-tires for my RiD 2001 Prime and Ultra Magnus.

You can have a set as well if you click the link on my signature below

Yeah those are lego tires. Not sure about the wheel itself.

it's not a lego tire. I 3d printed the entire set.

This is 100% 3d printed using PLA for the wheel and TPU for the tires.

    Lookin' good!

Is there another option for the rims? (is that a sticker? or part of the wheel design?)

Rubber tires on a metal surface doesn't work.

I’ve painted them the same red I painted Ironhide’s gap-fillers and slapped a reprolabel on them.

I dig the look, though my brain is telling me to add silver somehow. I’ll have to figure that out.

Having rubber tires adds to my head-cannon that Ironhide has replaced parts throughout time, preferring function over 100% cohesion.

    Thanks, Alphamagnus.

Thank you as well. I thought about doing gray as an option . The ratchet set is a 2 part . White wheel and Red Cross. Just waiting to find a ratchet. Some have said that they are using the red ones for ratchet anyways

There are color options, but the red has given me the least amount of qc problems so far. I tried making an ornate version but the flat version prints better and can take ANY label. Lmk if you have an idea.

    Nice!
So the logo IS a sticker then?

I love these, so happy someone is doing something about those abysmal stock wheels.

Yes the logo is a reprolabels sticker. They are actually the ones that brought up the fact that they’ve been giving free sticker sets that would work for these , for years.

So I simplified the design to accommodate

Could you please do a plain white version with no cross as well as grey? Nothing against what's already existant, I just want a set for both where they look essentially like I colored the original wheel tire in, or maybe a custom set?

What type of red paint did you use and what color.
Tires look great with the logo by the way.

    These wheels look great!

Also sorry for derailing the thread but what do you think of TPU? Do you think it could be used for phone cases, or parts of them? (Really sorry)
