Those photos of MP22 and Hot Rod/Exosuit/Daniel all look great, Dean! MP22, till this day, I still want to strangle Kobayashi for approving that atrocious butt flap where 1 additional !@#$%ing pin/joint would make MP22 my PRECIOUS (LOTR, lol) figure ever!!! Don't get me wrong, I love the guy for giving me a beautiful G1 UM figure. It is absolutely magnificent all around from the toon aethethic, matrix chest cavity gimmick, to hauling 4 cars, and size....but he did stop short with 1 pin away. If MP22 didn't have that butt flap, I wouldn't want another UM All-in-one transformation as MP22 fulfill everything I wanted for that type of design...unless it's an Armor version but that's another story.

Dean, your MP UM, is that the original or the 1st reissue? The face seems to imply the reissue. I'm interest with the faceplate that has the shade/avatar on, is that faceplate from Delta Magnus or the Reissue UM came with an additional faceplate?

 

I still haven't picked this one up. I've been on the fence about it since before its release. And I'm actually a BW fan.

 

Okay, so, regarding last night: I've narrowed it down to MPM-3, MPM-7, MP-20+, and MP-34, and MP-40. Which is best? Can I go wrong with any of them?

 

I own the ones in bold. I also own the original version of MP-20. They're all solid figures. I would pick up whichever one you can find for the lowest price possible. That way, you're not sinking a lot of money into something you're not totally sure about. They all seem like good starter options, though.

 

I don't have 7 or 34, but the rest are fun to tinker with. MPM-3 is crazy to play with, but complex. Wheeljack is honestly one I played with the most between him and Hot Rod. Probably because he poses so well, but I do like the Targetmaster with 40. I believe that 40 was on sale just recently in the BBTS Anniversary sale so he might still be on sale there. I would say that you can't go wrong with any of the ones I have since they are all impressive.

 

I'm not NOT a BW fan, just not enough to have a more obscure figure like Shadow Panther! I will say he's a super fun and handsome figure, I personally like his color scheme more over Cheetus. If you have no experience with the mold the beast mode is fiddly though. If you have Cheetus already I'd say it probably isn't worth it to double dip.

Thanks, brother! Yeah, the flap isn't ideal but it's not a bother to me in hand.

The pics I posted are from both my og and 1st reissue, with the Delta Magnus goggled face making an appearance as well. I haven't owned Delta Magnus, his goggled faces were gifted from @Sam who is simply one of the kindest, most positive, and most generous people you could ever hope to meet not only in this fandom, but life in general.

Of that list I only own Wheeljack+ and Targetmaster Hot Rod and I have to say that if you have no preference of character then Targetmaster Hot Rod is the winner, imo. His AKOM paint job is surprisingly beautiful in hand, his chromed pipes and engine are lovely, his articulation is superior to Wheeljack's, and he comes with his Targetmaster, of course, so he's like two figures in one!

 

I really like the + line not so much that they are more cartoon but that they are cleaner and stand out better on display. Good stuff!

 

I sold mine. He's not a main character in S1.
