It's like the spine is too wide, arms should compress toward the inside even more...

This guy just makes me want the rest of Devastator more. Nice and chunky, sturdy bot.

Love the figure save for his truffle shuffle waist. I know that it won't cause problems but just how wibbly his waist joint is, allowing him to roll his tummy as much as it does worries me every time. Just wish it were a lot tighter.

Is the "bobbleness" above his waist normal? There appears to be a spring in his waist resulting in his upper body bobbling around like a bobble head toy.

Mine isn't like that at all. He only moves when I want him to, unless I shake him like a can of spray paint or something...

Mine has the bowed out vehicle mode problem as well. At first glance it looks like the tabs on his shoulders don't allow them to fold into truck mode properly as there are no slots for them to go into.

Is the back pack on this figure suppose to tab in robot mode?
The ports and tabs are all their, but none of them do anything...its just kind of a half assed friction peg.

It’s also what is causing his bed to lay too far forwards in vehicle mode. I tried to take the waist apart to see what’s going on inside with that ratchet, but it requires me to push a pin and break a glue seal. It’s feels like it needs a spacer, the spring to too strong or waist joint is misassembled inside the body in some way.

See below. It’s the waist pushing itself outwards from the spring in the ratchet. The general looseness of that joint coupled with it always pushing itself outwards causes all kinds of issues with the truck mode.

I got a copy of him today and I've been trying to figure out some fixes. I definitely agree that it's the vibranium spring in his waist that's causing the bulk of the issues, but it's impossible to get to. It looks like there's a panel welded onto his ass that's housing the important screw (maybe to avoid the aforementioned spring rocketing out like a curly metal moth into someone's eye?) so I tried some other methods. I ran some light disassembly experiments, and I noticed the pegs on his spine weren't helping matters. They looked to be the primary source of the ill-fitting side panels for his bucket, so I hacked them off. It actually helped a whole lot, not perfect, but a hell of a lot better than them not pegging in at all on my copy. I think the only thing that this could even remotely affect (and probably won't) in the future is the stability of those side panels when 6 other Constructicons are piled on top of him. Unscrewing the forearm screws ever so slightly seemed to have helped to, but I don't know if that was just my own confirmation bias.

Thank you for pointing that plate out, cause I could only get the top of the body apart before. It pops off if you pry with a small flathead. Turns out there's a rivet/flathead pin in the top of the waist ratchet housing that wasn't pushed in completely, causing the gap in the waist like in rego0012's pic. After he was taken apart and the ratchet was out I finished pushing the pin in with a turn of the clamp and now he's less wobbly/gappy. Also rotated the square on the bottom of the ratchet joint to fix the looseness between ratchet clicks in his waist.
    Edit:
Here's pics for anyone trying to close the waist gap a bit. I will try to add more info if people are having trouble.
Take the pin out of the hinge holding the backpack to his back with a pin push then remove it.

Pry off the plate on his butt (small flat head screwdriver should work) to have access to the screw and keep damage minimal. (Glued right back on after.)

After the backpack and the butt plate are removed, unscrew all of the screws in his back and the one on his butt. He will now come apart. Keep track of how the leg ratchets fit together and you should be fine. Everything disassembled:
    0807191850-1.jpg

To fix the bobble, take his waist ratchet housing and put it in a small clamp-this is how you can push the pin in the rest of the way. My pin was sticking out of the housing by 1/8 inch so I turned the clamp about two times and it sunk all the way in. Here's how it sat in the clamp:
    0807191852-1.jpg
This is the pin after being pushed in:
    0807191851-1.jpg

Here's the waist after reassembly.(The gap between the belly and the crotch is closed, and you can't see the ratchet joint as much. And his top half and crotch make contact now.)
    0807191905-1.jpg

Too much rotation in the crotch? Try this.
The square shown below has a slot it fits into in the front crotch piece that I couldn't get a clear pic of, but turning it 90° allowed it to sit in that slot and solved the empty feeling between ratchet clicks.

This guy's pretty disappointing. Despite all the cool photos on the first page, LH isn't really fun to pose since all his kibble just constantly collides together. And, as mentioned, his truck mode is all bowed out and doesn't want to properly peg together. It holds the general shape of the dump truck (which isn't all that great to begin with), but still sucks when something doesn't work the way it was intended.

Feel like i should either exchange it and hope for a better copy, or wait for a possible running change.

Put mine down on the bowed out panels on the dump bed and wiggly waist issues. Something else Ive noticed on mine are the hip ratchets are slightly misaligned and the left leg sticks out a bit further than the right when trying to pose the legs straight down. I think it's keeping the front of the truck mode from lining up too. Thankfully Incan still pose him and get him into foot mode.

this peg on the arm panel seems to be the cause of the sides bowing out - its preventing the panel from compressing all the way against the arm. i dremeled off about 2mm and it tabs together perfectly in alt mode now :)  doing so will prevent that tab from locking in for foot mode, but there are enough other tabbing points that it doesn't really matter, or alternatively you could put in a bit more effort and disassemble the forearm to make the slots for that tab deeper

Does the fix help his alt mode at all?

It mostly makes him feel more solid, but yeah the cab tabs into the legs better.
0808192033-1.jpg 0808192036-1.jpg Still has the bowed out sides, I'm not sure what to do about that yet. For now it really doesn't bother me much.

poor LH is definitely an engineering mess, I get three positions (with the large play between) in the devvy foot rocker ratchet but that pivot point seems incredibly thin for what will be a huge bot.

Despite two clipping points the backpack on mine does not clip in at all, just the pin at the hinge allows it to remain in place thankfully, why is this so difficult nowadays for the designs to actually work.

I'm at the point where any stand alone figure has bits popping off or tabs utterly failing to work I just cross the figure off my list, I'll make an exception for devastator though its sad that longhaul is not up to the standard of rampage, he does look very good though and can pose quite well despite the limitations.

The backpack will only clip in on mine if I forgo putting the wheel tabs in place for the shoulders.

Finally got my hands on this beefy boi, at retail no less (and saved $10 price matching with Target.com). Can't wait to get him home and set him free.
