They come with mini cubes too?? That’s so great. I’m waiting for the cartoon pre-order from Bababobo00712’s website. Glad to hear you hold them in high regard. Such a great time to be a TF collector

I use these. They're 3/8" on each side.

There's stacks next to PE's Reflector in the group shot, who's about the same head-height as NA's bugs.

The ones that come with NA's look cool, but who knows if they're going to sell packs of them by themselves.

I have to say, seeing how incredibly small these guys are, I'm backtracking and cancelling my insecticon PO. For what they cost, I just can't justify that for some microscopic figures that are smaller than friggin' NA bumblebee. I'll just stick with my hasbro legends and let that be sufficient.

I want to like NA products (and I own several), but with each release, I'm starting to think that these just aren't for me. I might just have to stick to MS, MFT, and IF bots. My wallet says I shouldn't collect four lines of legends anyway.

i feel that 100% i really want them but i cant get on board with the price point.

even then it isnt the money i clearly spend more than i should on bots. but with these guys i feel like i am getting ripped off as a buyer if that makes any sense.

Right. It's not that I can't afford them, it's more that I question more and more if it's worth it. The price being asked just doesn't seem to be commensurate with what we're getting. They're shockingly small for what they cost.

I'll probably swallow hard and get the other carbots as they come out because I'm weak... but I'm not picking up the bugs, and I'm not going down the rainbow seeker rabbit hole with this company.

Personally, I don't correlate size with worth. I'm not paying for plastic, I'm paying for engineering and design. These bugs have amazing engineering, especially for the small size, and they just look great. So for me it's worth the price to have nice, tiny, awesome bugs.

I think that's one way that MFT has done a lot of damage for this scale. People see their figures and get an unrealistic expectation of what small legends figures should cost.

I'm just glad that other real companies continue to do good work.

Do you think MFT are prices less because they mostly KO’d other designs? I know they’ve started making their own figures but I didn’t buy into their scale so I don’t really know their quality.

NA/MS are doing accurate esthetics and amazing transformations at tiny scale. Well worth the price of admission in my book. Most of my MP figures have been sold off in favor of these legends and the recovered shelf space and money in the wallet has been icing on the cake.

    Absolutely

They have, and I encourage them to do more. I like their Springer (Edit: and of COURSE Omega) and can't wait for their Rodimus. I even begrudgingly got their Devcon... It's a scourge KO, but there are no other legends Devcon options.

Wonder if they will start raising prices for figures of their own design. The engineering of their own design has merit? Their Huff and Gears wasn’t very impressive.

Bombshell is the smallest of the three. Kickback and Shrapnel's shoulder are the same height or even a little bit taller than Bumblebee. The heads of the Insecticons are smaller than Bumblebee's head. The fact that Bumblebee is stockier makes him look taller but that is visual illusion.

If tonight I have the chance I'll make a picture of them standing up straight back to back in the Newage Insecticon thread.

I get that. It's not JUST about the size. But when a 2" figure costs 1/3 the price of a 3PMP carbot, something seems seriously out of whack. They aren't 1/3 the size. They don't have 1/3 the parts count. They don't have 1/3 of the engineering. I understand that they have non-zero development sunk costs that have to be recovered, but at some point, the value proposition just simply doesn't work. I didn't know what that point was until I saw these bugs next to Flipper. Something clicked, and I said, "That's it, I'm tapping out. I could buy three marvel legends for the price of the microscopic bug trio."

Let's be clear, I'm not throwing shade on anyone who finds the price/value proposition for these figures attractive. I'm merely working out as I type why I'm likely no longer among that group.

If you stack them, they are 6"!  More in line with their price. ;)

But I get your point. As I don't collect MP and CHUG, exception would be the Planet X Dinobots and Insecticons with which I started this 3P adventure (which would be CHUG if I'm correct), the price is doable and I don't really have other figures to really do a price comparison with.

I wish you guys knew more about the effort that goes into even showing a design for people to pick apart, along with what putting a product in the hands of consumers entails.

These guys are the same size as their Bumblebee and cost dollars less each. My BBB was $26 from ShowZ and these work out to less than $20 each.

What do you think figures that are smaller, more complex, made of better materials, are not skeletonized from here to Iacon like Hasbros, and come in multiple color schemes should cost?

Had I put these in my shop they'd cost twice as much and would require painting, so maybe I'm a little more sensitive to how perfect these are for $18/$19 each.

but here is the thing most of us do understand what goes into the design of a figure. these are basically a small mix of the badcube bots and the mmc ones.

i am sure if you had the knowledge and the $1500+ 3d modeling software. a person or group of designers could bang these designs out in a matter of weeks especially since they have actual bots to model off of. after that you are just sending the files to the factory so the molds can be cnc'd for production and all that jazz.

they are great versions but there is nothing original about them or utterly amazing. besides the fact that someone was first to shrink them down.

also for you to put them on shapeways would obviously be more expensive since it is basically a le carte.

but if you did a production run of 2000 - 3000 bots a piece. you can see where the massive profit starts to creep in. that doesnt even count the color variations.

I'm so confused why there's been so much bug talk in the past 24-36 hours in this thread about Starscream when there's a thread for the Newage bugs and the same conversations are happening there as well. It's like some sort of wormhole is connecting the two threads. =P
