Me Grimlock say come at me bro! I like the ratched ankle tilt, just a shame they didn't add more range. Overall really pleased with Superator and the other GP dinos. I have the FT set too and both are really nice... GP feels like a self contained centerpiece of a collection and it's own thing, while FT feels like more of a set to mess around with and they fit in more with other MP figures in my display. I think it's the size and chrome bling. Both superb sets. Just need the throne now, come on GP.
Finally got mine today and wow...pictures do not do the big guy justice. He is epically huge! The joints are all good and tight, even the fingers thankfully. The lack of ankle movement is disappointing for sure, and Grinder seemed to have more range of movement in the elbow, but Superator is in every way an upgrade.
Man, thanks for the pictures, and sorry for taking one of them to exemplify why I'm not getting it. I love Gigas, I've bought their metallic figures, and I was very happy waiting for Superator, until I saw the final product, for me it should look like the picture from the left (excuse my terrible picture editing skills), beefier legs, more in line with his arms, I think the legs look too skinny in the actual release and reminds me of Johnny Bravo... but that is just me. I ultimately decided to go with Reximus. ( my editing might look too beefy) Again sorry for taking your picture packetpc40
That's not saying much. It is an oxymoron... like jumbo-shrimp. Gigapower Dinos are not generally known for their overall quality. Shelf-presence and looks... indeed... they have that in spades. Loose fingers, exploding hands, loose wings, and uneven impossible to tab in sections... that's GPs MO.
@Segor I do see your point, but I have him in hand and his legs do not look too narrow in person. The image that you are looking at is from a higher angle with the legs leaning back so you have perspective working against you as well as the pose.
Good point, I've tried to see all the pictures I can to see it from other perspectives, but I still see it as an issue for me :/ anyways, I might still get him in the future, will see how the metallic version looks like
No worries on the pictures, glad to provide them. While I wouldn’t have minded if the legs were a little thicker, they don’t bother me in hand. And @Evolv3d is on point with the observations about camera angle and positioning. In any case, still a really nice figure but I can understand your reservations about the legs.
I think all three versions have their positives and negatives. I'm waiting on my copy of Giga's to come in, but I will say that FT's legs to look better, I think I like the torso proportions of Giga's better, but that head is just way too small, especially when compared with the rest of their Dinos. It some pics, it looks like it's photoshopped on. Is it really that much smaller than the heads of their other Dinos? Or is that just how the pics make it look?
Like i said b4 i got this in hand, i also think that the head is too small and the legs are too shiny by looking at pictures. But they actually look ok in person to me and not an issue at all.
Finally got around to transforming this guy: Man was it a pain trying to transform his legs, I spent like an hour trying to push the halves in and them not lining up with the tabs before realizing I had to fold his front waist covers up a little bit to allow his thighs to angle in a little more. Once I did it finally pieced together. Its definitely a really nice looking dino mode.
It's frigging HUGE! ..when you open the box it's chest hits you in the face like a pair of double G's lol ..all good so far, now to transform it King of the Dino's ..it's been a long wait but them crazy bastards and Giga did it
Super conflicted on whether to get this guy or Grinder. For general bot aesthetics I prefer the G1 toy look and brawniness of most of the Gigapower stuff, and am also planning on picking up Grassor and Gaudenter, so I’m worried that if I take Grinder that he’ll be dwarfed by either. I like Superator’s upper body mass and looks overall, but I’m not a fan of his sausage torso and slimmer head in dino mode (I’m one of maybe four weirdos that preferred Grinder’s default bulky dino head). I also prefer the thicker legs and range of motion in Grinder’s articulation. If anyone has more thoughts on this already extensive debate, I’d love to read them.
This thing is not small in any department, the chest is so big (maybe too big?) it kind of makes the lower half look smaller. you really need to see one in hand if you can, the pictures are not telling the full story
Agreed. Any gripes about Superator's legs are much more minor that Grinder's T-shaped torso and gorilla arms.
