I mean look, I get it, it’s never going to be perfect, but to me, there’s been something off about it since the first prototype pics, now I see what it is. Just compare the level of detail on this to MPM-4, MPM-8, or LA hire. It just doesn’t measure up. Heck even challenger was better, a lot of the panels on dragoon that are bare should have sculpted in ridges and lines that make it feel like an alien robot, and not a midieval dark knight.

The only thing I'm upset about with this guy is that i can't really afford him. Time to start savin..

I keep thinking how i like the look of the transformers i already have and they just keep getting better and better. UT is so amazing.

I cant stop looking at pics of this, it's such a snack for the eyes. Look back a few years at where UT started with their widely panned Predaking and then follow the trajectory to the current offerings of Peru Kill, Challenger, La Hire and this guy. I can't think of another company that has shown such a sharp ratio of improvement. Their current blend of sculpt (who else pays as much care to backs?), compelling transformation design, articulation and robust quality is unparalleled.

Welcome to the club :)  Yeah, I'm thinking he is more of a "transform once and then leave it for display" kinda of guy. Kind of like Firage and Challenger (for many). I'm sure he'll be sufficiently durable though.

I mean, I can't say you are wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a better figure. I think we are all in that boat. Our expectations vary from person to person though. In this case, while I certainly wouldn't oppose additional detailing (which I believe is likely we'll get before the final release), I will happily buy him as he is. Hopefully they continue to make additional refinements and modifications that will get everyone what they want by his release (without a V2 release) :)

KO's are theft. I really wish we as a fan community would, A) stop supporting them, B) stop talking about them in place of the original product as if it's OK to wait for the KO.

The comparisons to the 3A figures are meant to show how GOOD this figure is, not to say they should be comparable in detail and finish. Do people realize how big and expensive those 3A figures are? I actually have one. Their TLK Optimus of course looks perfect, but it’s 3x the price, 2x the size, and DOESN'T TRANSFORM.

I agree that 3P movieverse figures could be more detailed, but they are doing everything from scratch without ILM CAD files or anything. They’re literally making transforming figures from movie screenshots. It’s amazing what they can do considering that. People are getting used to 3P stuff having good detail because of OSKOs, which are just stealing from toys that do have access to all the detailed renders.

With most products, I don't see why you would need or want a KO. However, with many transformer figures, I will most definitely wait for the inevitable KO when it makes sense. To each their own, but until there is a clear law stating that it is illegal to purchase Transformer KO's, I will %100 use my money to pay less for superior figures.

This attitude really needs to stop. It is not even out yet and you're already asking for a KO??? At least wait a year or two after the release of the original so the real developers can get some revenue. Without them, there is nothing to KO.

LOL These 3rd party are stealing from Bay movies and Toei animation IP and you are perfectly fine with that, because otherwise you won't be buying any 3rd party figure at all. And they have every right as much as you to post about KO of 3rd party.

I'm not going to go into whether UT can be sued for using Toei's IP, but 3rd party are using their IP without permission and obtaining monetary gain from Toei. So let's not pretend they are saints here. LOL

We as a fandom get harmed when the original designers don't get the revenue from the figures they are trying to sell, being them official or not. They need the money back to continue with their business (making toys for us).

KO / 4P have a place in the business, but only to improve over existing figures with "severe" flaws like MP-36, MP Dinobot, etc. I really don't share the sentiment when people buy KO just because they CAN'T save money to afford them...

Sorry if it sounds bad or offensive, but that’s the way I see the problem.

While I can understand that you lose out having toys, but my original point still stands. Those 3rd part original designers are making money off Toei without paying a cent. And these are toys in the end. Let's be real here no one's going to die from not having a toy, and it's their choice to make a living leeching off Toei for free. Excuse me if I don't have sympathy for them for not choosing some other profession.

There are tons of other hobbies to fill in the void if not getting a toy based on a made-up character is really such a big deal.

I bought Hasbro's voyager TLK Megs. Good figure. I'll get this one too. Let me know when Hasbro makes an MPM of this guy.

I bought MPM-4 too, then sold it when I was disappointed with it. Will probably replace it with the improved Weijiang/Black Apple version. But Hasbro's not losing any money from me. I'll buy good figures when they make them.

*Edit: just realized you were only talking about KOs, not 3rd party figures in general. Not sure where WJ/BA's improved MPM Optimus would fall on your scale. That was a case where the original figure really needed to be fixed.
