Heck, when will they show Wheeljack, Jazz, Trailbreaker, Sunstreaker, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Brawn, Huffer, Gears, Swerve, IDW Whirl etc? (At least a few of those would most definitely be revealed soon hopefully)

Generations targets younger audiences with Bumblebee-ish designs. “Expanded universe” movie stuff, new characters. Possibly Animated and Prime and Cyberverse stuff mixed in.

Studio Series becomes G1 and Beast Wars media themed with a heavy focus on TFTM and Beast Wars, which both have anniversaries. Authentic takes derived partially from CHUG (including Siege) retools plus but media accurate. TFTM is a movie. Beast Wars is a “studio”-style production.

My further prediction is that no or few TFTM characters in WFC will have media accurate vehicle modes. They’ll mostly be like Siege Magnus. We’ll get a G1 botmode Arcee who becomes a motorcycle. G1 botmode Rodimus with an Energon vehicle mode. A few like Springer may be mold accurate but with deco deviations from media. Galvatron gets toy deco in WFC. And then SS in 2021 gives us earth mode Optimus and Starscream, Hot Rod, Arcee, retooled WFC Magnus with G1 vehicle mode, WFC Galvatron in animation colors, Primal, BW Megatron, Rhinox, and Blackarachnia.

I bet part of the scale emphasis in WFC is to tee up figures that can be retooled for Studio Series as G1 media.

 

Studio Series will continue as long as it's profitable.

As for Generations, I think WFC will focus on completing definitive updates for all of US G1 except for Pretenders and Action Masters. Then, staring in 2022, we'll get a Beast Wars-themed line, if not an entire trilogy. After that, we'll get updated Pretenders and Action Masters, and following that we'll see a greater focus on Euro/Japanese G1 and G2.

 

The "Studio" in Studio Series is... movie studio, g. Beast Wars was a TV show. The entire point of it is to cover the movies Paramount has made with Hasbro. What you're describing isn't even Studio Series anymore.

I think they're gonna try and merge JG1 and Euro-G1. Everybody's speculating on new Star Sabers, and we're evidently getting a Thunder Clash.. It'd make sense, IMO.

They're probably referring to the info saying that the next Leader Class figure is an armored car, which could apply to Thunderclash. However, it was later clarified that the rumored character didn't have a third-party toy, which disqualifies Thunderclash.

ah i heard of this actually, plus i know in idw he was a brick with wheels but it doesn't really strike me as an armored car anyway imo

 

Given the adherence to sunbow and marvel of late, why are you expecting an explicitly idw whirl?

 

That would line up nicely with the brand unification of Hasbro and Takara.

I'd imagine due to Rung Battlemaster we're getting potentially opening the floodgates for IDW/IDW versions of characters, and the IDW 2005 continuity was still ultimately a G1 continuity in broad strokes even if it incorporated stuff from other continuities down the line.

I must admit, I am rather keen on the idea of getting an IDW Whirl myself, I've been reading through IDW-MTME lately and I love that psycho  

Getting A Whirl would also make sense if we are getting more Wreckers as has been speculated. It would be neat if we got the DJD on the opposite side, I know there was a Decepticon counterpart of the Wreckers but I got the impression they mostly just existed to be killed by the Wreckers? I don't really know much about them admittedly.

 

There were a few different groups that would fir the bill.
You've got your 'Ten Deadliest Killers' from Target:2006, the 'Mayhem Attack Squad' (2nd iteration is the cool one, imo), and Squadron X who were featured in the flashbacks in Last Stand of the Wreckers. The last ones were all characters created for the Marvel comics, so getting a full set of them would be...remarkable.

 

I'm torn: I still want a Carnivac as Springer's opposite number (sad that we didn't get that rumoured Weirdwolf retool), but I also still don't have a Bludgeon that does his Marvel comics appearances justice.

Failing that, how about Macabre as a Scourge pre-/retool? (Pair him with an Emirate Xaaron battlemaster for lols, IDK...)
