I'm disappointed that Bee's battle mask cannot be removed. If the ball joint is the same size, one might be able to head-swap with Clunker Bee. Either way, I will probably pick him up just for the nostalgia.

Soundwave looks excellent, and makes me think they will probably make a Sentinel Prime down the road.

The Arcee sisters look okay, twisted abominations that they are.

As for Hot Rod... well, it's a repaint of a lousy mold, but at least it's a repaint that makes sense.

 

I was interested in Studio Series so much when the line was announced, but the constant defaulting to giving characters backpacks is an off-putting trait that will likely stay.

 

Ironic, the one bot who claims that he's "so much better than all of them" and couldn't shut up about "stopping the time" if his life depended on it; is pretty much the last thing anyone would bother chasing after in this wave.

 

Yeah, that's been my complaint since day one.

 

I can tolerate it because we do get virtually kibble-less gems like ROTF Megatron, Bumblebee Optimus, and TFTM1 Blackout.

I get MORE upset at genuine disasters like SS Shatter than backpack kibble, because she had one of my favorite designs in the live action films and the toy feels like a cheap KO.

From what I see Hasbro intends to make these Studio Series the definitive line of Movieverse figures since it seems to last quite a while since if not, I don't see it make sense to make figures of characters like Shadow Raider, KSI Sentry, etc. If Hasbro really wants finishing Studio Series in 2021 would have to focus on important characters such as Fallen, Sentinel, Hound, Mirage, the rest of Dinobots, Que, among others. It would be a shame if the line is incomplete if Hasbro decides to cancel it from one moment to another.

I agree but those characters you mentioned were low effort redecoes. Unlike when they do G1-style lines where half the characters are canonically the same molds, the movies have almost only unique designs. Redecoes have been very far and few in between in this line and rightly so, and the few ones they have done have mostly made sense. Shadow Raider being the worst offender (who still offered a head and weapon that could be applied to Lockdown) isn't too bad. Redecoes are just part of the business and Studio Series has thankfully kept them to a minimum.

The others will come, in time...

Soundwave and the triplets look nice. I think we know how we'll get the idiot twins. Unless Hasbro is afraid to go there, which... No. The world has moved on. Just make the figures, no one's going to cry themselves to sleep tonight over it.

Hot Rod is sadly a remold of WWII Bumblebee, but there are enough changes I can tell myself "Okay."
