I just went back through our Walmart today and the woman says that there are no mods whatever that means even though it shows six in the system

 

Cassettes came with Soundwave most stores got a case of each. But if u see one not the other very likely sold out one or they still on the pallet. One employee told me the pallets are jumbled together and no guaranteedoubt they are on the same pallet

 

out of these waves. Which was worst I'm guessin starscream and devy? Prime and Roddy seems like just shelf warming.


Man if the Dino bots ever get released this could be like zombie toy apocalypse

 

I'd say Starscream and Devestator. They never showed up at our nearest location. Nothing but a shelf ton of Hot-Rods.

 

Welcome to Walmart - the only business in the world where EVERYONE ELSE knows more about it than the actual Employees. Truly states just the calibur of person that's there sadly...

 

Unless they are shipping them multiple pallets running late, There are stores all over MA CT etc. where only Soundwave is appearing & no cassettes under any SKU with them. So, I am starting to wonder if some of the delay, if a delay, continues to be Hasbro's decades old mismanagement inventory non-fulfillment system....

 

Not really. They're not given any way to find out what's going on. They'd have to do the same research that we do but they'd never be given company time to do so and, even if they did, they'd have to research the whole department while we're just researching a couple of toys. The problem is the company, not the people.

 

Went to all the Walmarts in my area yesterday and NOTHING,....it was a HUGE BUST. I DID see the Optimus Prime G1 figure for $25 and Cloverdale walmart had 4 of them but other walmarts had nothing. I wasted gas and came home with NOTHING and believe me i was a bit annoyed if you can say that.

 

The problem isn't so much that they don't know as much as us; the problem I've encountered is that they think they know more than us. I rolled in the other day and asked the lady in toys if they had Soundwave.

Her: "We have absolutely no new Transformers and I have none to stock."
Me: "Oh. Well I was going by Brickseek which I know is sometimes incorrect. But it says you have 6."
Her: "hehe. You mean it never works. They need to get rid of that website. You should check our website."
Me: "I did. That also says In Stock."
Her: "Well I know we don't have any... I manage this section..." punches in UPC on handheld and it shows a big green 6 In Stock. "Oh... well... This thing must not be working either."
Me: "..."

 

Still a few more days before I can join the hunt but to lessen the blow, after being here for over 2 weeks I suddenly found a little stowaway this afternoon!

This. And it's not just Walmart. There's "making a buck is our top priority" and then there's "making a buck is our only priority." As long as people chase pennies, the latter will continue its reign of terror.

 

You can say that again. I'm REALLY bummed out by my walmarts in my area not having IN STORE what their own website says the store should have. It's just a case of walmart can't get their you know what together and make sure there data is correct when selling something.

 

Well, Soundwave and his buddies finally came across the ocean to our little island, with the usual "extra boat ride tax". Soundwave was $60 and the tape sets $24 each. I cut the bubbles on the tape set packaging in a way that would allow me to put them back in for display purposes.

 

So brickseek and Walmart.com still show 4-5 in stock at my main store, but I now know someone bought all of the Soundwaves in that store.

So unfortunately I don't see those websites as a big help for this figure.

I have 4 Wally's in my range I can check, all of them said they had them in stock, empty shelves where they should be. I'm thinking these are hotter than I estimated and were likely all purchased on day of release (last Monday).

Only hope now is whether they decide/able to order another box...

 

That may not be true. An employee could’ve purchased two and the rest will go on the shelf tonight or tomorrow etc.

An employee once told me on another board that there has to be some kind of perk working at Wally. Haha. I would do the same.

 

I suspect the same thing Brickseek & Wal-Mart showed them in stock & minutes later sold out, probably got hoarded by some poor bastard employee who blew his check on this toy. Wish I lived in my sisters basement and didn’t have to worry about bills!!

 

Funny thing is that was a huge no no when I worked at Walmart several years ago. You weren't allowed to stash things and you could only buy them if they had already been placed on the shelf you were on break or off the clock. We'd bend that rule, of course, but we were careful about it because it was a terminable offense.

 

Great context. This is Soundwave we’re talking about here. People are losing their minds on this thread, so I imagine an employee would go to great lengths with the temptation sitting on a pallet in the stock room. Haha!
