I've counted like 3 comments from you on this thread where you are bitching about people bitching. Like it's so unreasonable for comic fans wanting to be able to tell what they are even looking at. When Ramondelli drew Kup's return page, most people had to go to tfwiki to figure out that they were in fact looking at Kup.

 

Sounds like this guy really likes the Constructicons, maybe even as much as me. This might actually get me to buy a Transformers comic, which is a big deal for me, as I've not done that since the 1980's, apart from Hearts of Steel (because I love the age of steam), but that was pretty much a one-off.
The Constructicons are my favourites, especially Bonecrusher, so I hope this guy does them justice.

Devastator is sitting on a toilet bowl that is possibly made of stone, possibly made of Autobots, possibly made of Autobots and Decepicons.
Devastator's expression is menacing? Bored? Curious?
Who can tell?
In spite of the visor clearly glowing red above and his chest being so reflective below that it's generating lens flare, Devastator's face, squarely in the middle of those two light sources, is obscured in shadow.
Transformers somehow live in a universe where their own light sources simultaneously generate lens flare and dark, obscuring shadow.
Lots of glowing embers, or pollution, or pollen in the foreground. It's something. Something floaty, something omnipresent that no one ever seems to be aware of in the story itself.

In other words, classic Livio Ramondelli.

 

One of those few times I cannot tell with Livio\'s work. Either Devastator is sitting on a throne of debris, or he\'s doing a sort of G1 Toy boxart pose impression of a minibot.

 

He's sitting on the toilet but realized he left his copy of Kaon Weekly across the floor so he's squinting, trying to read it.

 

We've all been there. LoL

 

He is sitting on a throne? The artwork is so dark it looks more like Devastator is taking a dump.

Great idea but poor execution.

 

Man i hope the story is good because the art doesnt look like its going to carry this one. Between this and the recent "Bold new era" comics, and the whole of Ghosts of Cybertron, the artwork for transformers comics seems to be slipping hard as of late. Heres to hoping they bring back some originals who worked on prior comics. I'd kill to have Kei Zama on the galaxies team.

 

Lawrence would also be nice. Roche even.

I'm not sure I really do, even now... but whatever else is true, I sure don't see a Devastator head I can actually recognize as such.
