Yup, TakaraTomy product distributed by Hasbro. Just like the more recent Masterpiece figures on Hasbro Pulse.

Well I guess that makes sense cause I forgot about Star Convoy. But at the same time they are not really keeping in line with their original concept of giving us niche figures at normal prices. That kinda sucks considering they arent exclusives of any kind and basically just online retail sales.

takara tomy generations selects is an evolution/continuation of lg-ex. hasbro generations selects is the niche figures at normal retail prices. THEY ARE TWO SEPERATE LINES PEOPLE. they might share a name, but that has happened before with takara and hasbro

then what was the point of your post?

I guess. I mean at the end of the day doesn’t really matter. To me at least. I mean come on! We’re getting official Seacons! And all of them to boot! I don’t care who’s making them. Hasbro and/or Takara. It’s cool they’re happening. I don’t play favorites with either.

The confusion comes from both Takara and Hasbro having a line called Selects with different concepts. Hasbro Selects is redecos at retail prices, and Takara Selects is big retools at premium prices I think. When Hasbro Pulse offered a Takara Selects figure it may have made the confusion worse.

agreed :)  cant wait to put these guys on order

it only makes the confusion worse because people choose to ignore the takara tomy branding in the title for star convoy

Really, they were just looking for an excuse to repaint Sky Lynx and did the least effort possible with the rest.

Least effort? He’s covered in paint detail. More detail than Skylynx AND a new head.

Stop acting repaints and retools are a new thing and a four letter word. 80% of the 84 cast, characters people hold oh so dear are repaints and retools to make more toys and sell them. Been happening since day one. If they made a new mold you should expect Hasbro is gonna get their use of it down the road

Yo chill with that troll crap dawg...

I asked a question. I dont agree with your answer. You got no proof that they are different lines with the same name. Youre just making an assumption. IMO a bad assumption if Hasbro pulse is selling all this stuff like Star Convoy and we have a brand unification. Another guy pointed out heavy retooling which is a flawed theory because did Seige Galaxy Optimus Prime cost more than Seige Ultra Magnus ? No. Still $50. The whole idea of retooling is to save money and offer it at the same price as the original mold, not double the price. If its gonna be double the price then they might as well make a new mold. Takara greed is back. I knew the brand unification thing couldnt last forever. Brand unification was supposed to mean price unification too. No more BS excuses about importing from Japan doubles the price when the figure was made in Vietnam in the same factory that made the Hasbro versions, then shipped straight to the US with the Hasbro versions and never set foot on Japanese soil. Those days were supposed to be over with brand unification. I can see Takara (or Hasbro) is getting greedy again. Ill still buy them but dammit its sad to see Hasbro go back on their commitment to the fans. It was supposed to be one figure with one deco and one set price (by scale) world wide.:throw :banghead:

They’ve been doing it since day one and they’re doing it appropriately now again. This is the fucking RID Unicron trilogy era where a repaint was a power-up for a character. They’re making repaints of characters people expect. Yes it happened a little recently with 2015 RID but for GHUG? No. They’re not

I mean, do we know 100% for certain that these won\'t end up with Hasbro versions on Hasbro Pulse? What evidence is there for that not potentially happeneing?

TakaraTomy charges the same price for Smokescreen as they do Gulf / Skalor.

Newly tooled parts, such as what you see with the Seacons is an additional expense for the companies. Things such as Galaxy Optimus from Ultra Magnus were already factored into the cost of the figure since it was planned since the inception of the figure.

I'm guessing that the new Seacons might be a bit out of the normal Hasbro retail price. I'm also guessing the price for the Seacons will be more akin to the Voyager retail price point, because they are more extensive toolings, with lots of (new) parts, premium deco and imports (not part of their normal line).

I don't know what the packaging will be like for Takara's Generations Selects too, but that might factor into it as well. Since Hasbro's goes for a minimalistic packaging design with the brown cardboard mailer type packages.

its actually not an assumption, here is proof (but you'll just ignore it)
    Untitled.png Untitled3.png
notice the different branding in the circled areas. there is a difference. one is Takara Tomy Transformers Generations Select and the other is simply Transformers Generations Selects

also, im sorry you feel that me providing correct information to people is me trolling.
these arent in line with the purpose of hasbro generations selects, plus the provided evidence of the distinction between the two companies generations selects line (on hasbros own website to boot)

This is not gonna end up as a regular Hasbro release or even a Hasbro Selects release. It's a Takara product that is getting imported by Hasbro, just like Star Convoy, and the other masterpiece figures that have been put up for pre-order. Hasbro Pulse is acting like a regular retailer like BBTS or TFS and importing Takara product for a US audience.

We don't have any evidence that this will not happen. We should probably assume it will, since it did with Star Convoy.

Note that TakaraTomy though hasn't received all of Hasbro's Generations Selects figures. At least yet. No Red Swoop, Ricochet, or G2 Megatron. There is all the newer stuff that hasn't been announced yet either (Red Wing, Greenlight, Rainmakers, etc). But they could be announced in due time and might even be part of their main line (PotP had some Hasbro exclusives as mass retail releases through TakaraTomy - Nemesis Prime, Wreck-Gar, Throne of Primes, etc).

That Hasbro didnt make these new King Posideon/ Seacons team.
That Hasbro doesnt have the technical people and capacity to design, produce and create Masterpiece toys from scratch....
