Metalbeard's piano leg: is that printed or a sticker? I don't believe we've ever had a piano graphic before? "Something something dummy thicc."
Made some progress with some custom cast from Aliens. Mostly built off from offerings from Brickmania's Offworld APC and Marine Smart Gunner. Pvt's Vasquez and Drake. "Let's rock!" Brick built Xenomorph. I tried to use mostly official Lego parts. Pvt "Game over, man!" Hudson facing a xeno. Cpl Hicks facing down a xeno. Brickmania Offworld APC with some custom mods. I redid the entire interior to be more accurate to the movie prop vehicle. Bishop is manning the wheel while Lt Gorman and Cpl Dietrich are manning Ops control. I'm not entirely happy with the exterior of the APC and may rework the entire roof assembly somehow to be more like Larry Lars' custom APC design. Flickr gallery for Larry Lars' APC can be found at: Colonial Marine APC deconstructed Missing Brick also does excellent work related to Aliens and more: Aliens APC But I'm very happy with how the interior came out, at least.
I think they've kind of learned the hard way. Nothing was original in TFA, some new ships introduced in TLJ, and now some awesome FO designs in TRS.
Ep. 7: "Everything is too similar! Do something original!" Ep. 8: "This is too different! Go back to the old way!" There's literally no winning here.
I first read that as "There's literally no whining here," and I was like, what planet are you living on?! Yeah, I've mentioned this before somewhere but the SW team lacks the George Lucas touch. Sure his writing was... questionable, but he was a great world-builder and knew what an appealing design was. The new trilogy feels bog standard in terms of design for ships, creatures, and characters. Lego just has to work with what they're given, unfortunately.
A bunch of new sets coming out tomorrow. Their's at least 2 sets I'm going to get. Creator Townhome Cafe and Pet Shop Hidden Side Cemetery
