Unfortunately, my Soundwave has a couple problems: the right leg is loose and slides down anytime I pick him up and there is a molding error on the diecast right foot. Hopefully this isn’t a common problem. Other than that, all the joints are tight and the paint apps are great.

 

Just keep checking brickseek. When you see the number in stock go down that means they’re probably available for purchase. When I saw my Walmart went from 12 to 10 in stock I went and found them.

 

went back this morning to Walmart as instructed by a employee yesterday
The employee I spoke to couldn't find Soundwave and the tapes on the floor and told me to come after 1pm when the toy department manger comes back from lunch
I go back, and the toy manager tells me, they are in the process of changing the toy section thus no new toys just old stock
and could be about a week when the toy isle is updated
And tells me, can't sell them cause no where to place them on shelves
But I say, just want to buy on of each. And she says, no cause they are some where in a stack of pallets
And I ask , is there a specific date when the change happens
And she says, no, just in about a week.
I couldn't reason with her and basically told me to get fucked

SO, I can take my chance and wait in about a week with no exact date or drive 30miles out.
but the problem I have, I'm busy but also hate wasting gas money for toy hunting.

I don't collect much Tfs and the ones I really want have to be damn store exclusives.

I feel you brother, I was @ Wally this morning & nothing, brickseek showed not in stock, an hour ago it showed 6 Soundwaves in stock so I hauled ass there, nothing on shelves while speaking to associate it showed 5 in stock??? What...so between my house & Wal-Mart 1 magically disappeared?? Associate was no help kept looking at her watch the whole time!! This is hog shit,, drove to all my Wal-Marts in my area with no luck what sucks is my Silverado sucks more than my high school girlfriend,,gas that is!!

 

I feel you,, and just so you know his screen name translates to “bunch of crybabies” very few posts and then he posts a pic of 12 in his trunk, coincidence? GTFOH,, what a dick move!!

 

Does anyone have any info when this toy reset is about to go down?

I bought the $25 G1 Optimus from a different Wallyworld and since it was locked up asked about Soundwave. They said they can't put them out yet until next reset.

 

Welcome to Walmart's stunning customer service! You're better off trolling the online ordering page. The only time I visit one is on the way to work or home, and it's literally right off the freeway.

I got lucky with the first run of minibots, Starscream and Devastator, but never saw Warpath or Gears. I don't think I'll ever see Soundwave either. Already, I've seen photos of people online with entire boxes of SW and the cassettes in their shopping carts.

For a spot of good news, Optimus was finally discounted to $35.

 

Again they are being held in the back room for resets. Out of the stores that have these in stock according to Brickseek only 2 have them out.

 

Impression I got last time I asked was if they had the box is was high up on the shelves back in the warehouse and they weren't going to bust out the forklift for just me and some robots.

 

Yep resets are anytime thus week. This is what I meant about crapshoot

If it drops below the 5 and yet u see nothing know u know it's hoarded or just sold out before u.

 

Hopefully the second wave is coming cause with most stores only getting 6. It's pretty much hunger games out there.

 

Yeah, fuck Walmart and their stupid "can't until the reset" bullshit. Though honestly she's probably right about the stack of pallets thing. They wouldn't be stacked but there'll be at least half a dozen pallets and it's a lot harder to dig through those looking for a specific box than it sounds like it would be.

Almost certainly not up high but it would be a matter of digging through several pallets.

I guess I got lucky. I went in the night they came off the truck so they got rolled out to the floor. The employees would have ended the night with all the new mod stuff back on pallets and rolled them back to the stock room and then they wouldn't come out again until the reset but I managed to be there during that window and I got cooperative employees at both Walmarts I went to. Also, it looked like the second one I went to was actively working on the reset so that might've helped.

 

couldnt find the cassettes but I found Soundwave in collinsville IL just 10 minutes from St Louis. grabbed the last one they had on the shelf ............... I just went ahead and paid 70$ on ebay for the cassettes because I didnt want to hassle and worry about finding them later at walmart.

 

I never did find warpath, was it a global reissue?


Soundwave was my first transformer. Purchased at Toys R Us before leaving the country that night. Sad part is when we got to the car, I opened it and he had no stickers or weapons. It was a dud from the factory and store was closed for the day. It was a cool toy but always felt bad when I saw decoed soundwaves with accessories.

I WILL HAVE THIS!

 

Thats what I was thinking, that an employee is hoarding, same thing happened with Devastator, Thankfully I was able to score one at another store.

And FWIW, Walmart honored the order I placed for delivery. It’s been shipped and should be here Friday. Still waiting for my other order to ship because I placed that for in-store pickup (by mistake...which is why I made a second for delivery to my home...too much PTSD from Macross PO nights selling out in secs and I was trigger happy on the mouse).

 

Walmart nearby showed 5 (6 shown on brickseek). Asked an employee and they were nice enough to go back and grab 2 from the unopened box. So they had 6 and somehow I got a super nice girl who was happy to help.

 

Lucky, the one I spoke to earlier was miserable & kept looking at her watch like I was taking up her time, customer service is a thing of the past!
