So on the fence between this and Hastak version.

How's the transformation on these guys? 1. Bad as in FP Menasor to 10. easy/fun Combiner Wars figs.

 

I'd say a 4, some bits are fiddly (Most of Tentakil, Skalor's belly and knees, Nautilator's sides and knees), some are insanely stiff/strong (looking at you, combiner-knee ports!), but nothing's "OMG" like FP Stunticons.

 

I find the FP Stunticons more fun...

Mostly because those incredibly tight Combiner joints and all around heft make Poseidon far more tiring to manipulate.


Yeah, Tentakil is kinda tricky because of the way all his panels are offset and layered on top of each other. He gets in the way of himself quite frequently if you don't do things in a precise order.

I checked this out and sent them an inquiry about their listing as "repaint ver." but I never heard back from them. is this the regular version or the black repaint?

 

What to these Enhancement packs do?

Give Poseidon extra height, weapon stands and turn into a gun? Do I need them otherwise?

 

They’re not necessary for anything. Also gives him knee pads.

 

I never did get round to painting the eyes on these guys, quite lax of me really.

 

I've actually been wondering about non-canon uses of the extra pieces in say robot or beast modes is there anywhere to store or use them that isn't official but still functional ?

 

And if you're using the blue/pink guys as legs, it adds more blue. (Main reason I use them).

Also, a red set comes with Tentakil, so you only need a blue or green set if you really care about color.

 

There's an utter lack of useful mounting ports on these guys and it's super frustrating. The guns can't really go anywhere in combiner mode without junking things up, and even in beast mode, they're so large that they'll probably just get knocked around. The sword bits don't really have anywhere go to outside of combined mode, being pretty awkward-looking as weapons for the individual bots outside of a few bits. Honestly the worst aspect of this set.

 

Regular version. I ordered the same "repaint" version... Should be "reprint". It's a reissue. =)

I got a response from them this morning with a picture showing me it is indeed the original figures. So.. ordered!

 

Any help on where's the cheapest place to get these?

Also, any issues I should be aware about?

That's usually my biggest complaint when I get any figure. It's a pretty big turn off I have to store 900 little accessories. I don't WANT little guns and bits that fall off and/or get lost. I don't care if they partsform or whatever, but at least let me store them on the figure in a relatively decent looking fashion at least. I have the same problems with Zeta's Superion and his little pile of component bot guns that don't go anywhere or do anything.

 

Any good deals for the entire team anywhere? I need to stop slacking on these guys.
