@ backpack haters: The backpack and voice box for MP44 cannot be separated. Its also part of his transformation into truck mode. That was just a quick and somewhat hilarious cut and paste job by @oku.  

 

So should we expect Amazon Japan to lower their price again or is it likely too late to get the best price? I'm still on the fence but I've got the funds to upgrade. Obviously I'd like the price a bit lower than it is now. What has history shown us with Amazon Japan?

 

You can preorder now and cancel anytime before August 20th if the price didn't go down.

 

Cant guarantee it, but normally after the first batch after release AJ, gets another batch a week later that normall get the preorder discount. That may be your best bet to get it at the cheapest price

 

I had a thought a while back, that I have mentioned before, but started thinking about it again today:

What if TT stopped doing "mass" releases for the MP line and went the "Bandai" route?

For those that don't know, whenever Bandai puts a PO for ANYTHING, it sells out in seconds. Literally. Granted, not ALL of their products are HUGE HITS, you can find some SOC/DBZ/Saint Seiya/ etc items here and there because they've been done so many times,

But when it comes to the heavy hitters such as:

All of Macross

All of Evangelion

SOME of the Saint Seiya Items.

SOME of the DBZ items.

Some of the SOC items (Looking at you, Voltron)


You are as good as fucked. You have no chance in hell to lock a PO for RETAIL PRICE.

What if TT did this?

Would people still think they are overpriced? Or will they bitch at their inability to PO anything? (that will likely be my camp). Sometimes, I really wish it was like this. I wish the MP line was something like the Macross DX line, where having them all means you had a horrible time securing a PO or you simply had to overpay out of the ass on the second market. But then I remember what I have to do sometimes to PO my favorite Bandai items and I thank all gods that it is not the case.

While priced up there, we all have a fair chance to get these things, unlike those Macross/Evangelion/SOC fans that are just stupid     like myself.

To those complaining about price, would your complaining switch gears if that was the case? Would you complain as much about it?

As a fan that loves these things, that would fucking suck. Optimus would be literally unattainable. Backpack or not.

How would you like TT if that was the case? Would you still support them? Would you pay aftermarket prices of $800 for MP-44?

What if, the MP line was truly limited/exclusive/assholishly managed like most of Bandai lines?
