I got mine yesterday. Very cool transformation. Good build quality. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the size. Wish he was a bit smaller and scaled better with my Flipper and Manero

Scored one for $20 - cool but too big for regular legends. Still stuck with the shitty Hasbro one for now.

Yeah, I'm tempted to get him just cuz he looks pretty good but he wouldn't fit with anything else I own so I have no idea what I'd do with him.

Pretty sure this thread is labeled with Legends+ in the title. Absolutely no point bringing up that he is bigger or smaller than you wanted for your own personal collection. He is the size and scale he was always planned to be by a company that has been rolling out its own scale for years.

Hey, did you know that this guy is big? Like he's so big compared to the bots in my personal collection. Way too big.

I can say what I like and what I want to say is that he's too big for my collection which mostly consists of other figures from MFT. MFT's scale is fucked - the seeker and leader bots are great but their car and minibots are freaking huge and completely out of scale (my Kup is almost as tall as Galvatron). If that doesn't bother you, that's fine, but it bothers me and if I feel like saying it, I'm going to.

    Looks like Detritus to me...

    Detritus (G1) - Transformers Wiki

[at least, that's who he'll represent in my collection]

I'm sure I don't have to tell you that 1 figure can't satisfy every damn scale. What is the point in complaining about it when it doesn't fit yours? Do you complain on every thread that has a cool design but doesn't fit your scale?

Why? I like it at the size it is. Various lines and brands that all scale well to my eye (even when they aren't "supposed" to)- except this guy is too big. I had to get it to realize that, sometimes that's the only way to really know - even with wonderful people like you around reminding everyone about what they need and don't need to discuss in this discussion forum.

People will discuss things like this, regardless of you. Get used to it.

Here's my problem with MFT scale in a nutshell.

    upload_2019-7-31_11-50-53.png

I'm not complaining that their carbots and minibots aren't in scale to my collection per se. I'm complaining that they're not in scale to their own damned line. I realize that's HS Prime and not MFT but he's only a smidge taller than MFT Megatron so I accept him as being in scale. In what world does Huffer come up past the bottom of Optimus' windows? And halfway up Megatron's chest? And all the way to the top of Skywarp's? NA figures are a little smaller than they should ideally be to follow the scale chart (hence the little question marks in my helpful graphic) but they're pretty close (I think they'd each need to be about half a head taller to be perfect). MFT's bots aren't even close to scaling with their own damned figures!

So yeah, Hound looks great and I'm tempted but I couldn't put him in my Legends+ collection even if it were exclusively MFT figures because he'd just be too big.

MFT Hound is definitely their best offering. Nice, uncomplicated transformation, what seems to be better plastic than the Lambos (SS, RA) and loads of accessories, but without having unnecessary crap. Top job MFT.

Here are my two cents: I don't mind the way their Carbots scale, I think it looks good overall, even if they could've been about half a head shorter. Then I'd say they're perfect, but overall, it doesn't bother me. It's the Minibots that are definitely too damn big. I'm complementing my collection with Magic Square minibots, but they're a bit smaller than they probably should be for me to call it perfect, but there's no in-between alternative. I kind of wish MFT or some other company would slightly upscale the Magic Square minibots.

I want to like this- the alt mode looks great, the transformation seems simple and fun enough. But his chest just seems so big compared to his waist, so I find myself hemming and hawing and not pulling the trigger. I already have IF Hound, so maybe I'll wait for that Detritus version. Was there any indication on when that's coming out?

And my comments on MFT scale- the only MFT bots I have so far are the phase sixers (though I have Black Brandon on the way). And I'm of two minds on them. I also have IF's phase sixers and standing both sets against the rest of my legends collection, I'm hard pressed to say which goes better with those. On the one hand, all three towering over the rest of them seems appropriate as the destructive titans of the Decepticon army. On the other, I think IF Sixshot and Black Shadow at legends size seems more correct, while Overlord stays at legends +.

They're 'too big' for a Sunbow-scale Legends+ collection, but I believe MFT's intention with their Minibots is that they scale with the official HasTak Legends Minibots [aka CHUG-scale].

That said, they're still shorter than MFT Carbots et al, so if you're willing to fudge the scale a bit then they can work OK in a Legends+ line-up. I've seen some folks that actually prefer them this size so that they still scale well in Alt Mode.

[for the record, I use the MFT / Hot Soldiers Minibots in my CHUG collection, and a combo of MS and NA Minibots for my various Legends collections; I happen to think that NA Bumblebee and MS Beachcomber work great as Minibots in pretty much ANY Legends collection, standard, + or -]

I agree The Lamborghini's and Hound are a peculiar size - but they pretty much had to be that size as they couldn't exactly make them bigger than Megatron, Sixshot and Shockwave or smaller than Huffer and Gears.

But yes it's a tad confusing that MFT's own line doesn't scale in a G1 Scale chart like way with each other - but the lambos and Hound are still the same or taller than Hot Soldiers Cliffjumper or smaller than the intermediate Hulkie KO, If you insist on the minibots being smaller then perhaps one solution is buy the smaller Minibots and go with MFT for the Autobot cars and Most Decepticons.

If you want to get really confused though - just look at the Machine Boy Bumblebee compared to pretty much anything else - about the only thing it looks right with is some Deluxes
