Yeah, ThreeA and ThreeZero are basically the same company but different divisions. It used to be the case that ThreeA was directly overseen by the artist/owner Ashley Wood, but lately it's been getting a bit more muddled with ThreeA doing licensed but non-stylized stuff. This move is probably a smart one, though I will miss stuff like World War Robot.
I'm still miffed that they just dropped the Judge Dredd line without even finishing off the goddamn Dark Judges...
I know they'll still put out the blitzwing and the other preordered figs like the TLK figures but no clue after that.
Had they officially canned (Again) the 2000AD stuff then? I would be surprised if that transferred over to ThreeZero anyway, I'm pretty sure they'll only take the licences they were seeing some money on - and the 2000AD was always pitched as more as a labour of love (and I don't think from Ash; seem to remember it was one of the other guys who fought to revive it) Personally thought it's been at least several years since Ash was doing anything interesting with 3A, as regards his own stuff. It had all gone down the pan somewhat, and all his & TP Louise's oh-so-edgy (yawn) fetish doll toys - which evidently made some sort of money, somehow - had largely taken over, and become tiresome.
Haven't heard anything official but the last 2000 AD stuff was 2 or 3 years ago. That sounds pretty dead to me.
I'll probably never get at least one of those WWR/Popbot figures now since the price of existing ones will be higher than the already high retail price.
Right. Last one I bought was the 1/6 Apocalypse War Dredd, which must have been end 2017/early 2018. Thought they'd done some stuff since then, clearly not.
2000AD license was canceled by the Threezero side a few years ago due to poor sales. I was the person that took over the direction and management of the license. The DLX and Premium Scale lines are both continuing. The TF license has been transferred to Threezero.
I just want one more figure from them to keep my Starscream company. Just about any other Decepticon would do but top picks would be ROTF Megatron and DOTM Shockwave and Soundwave.
Speaking of 3A and the DLX series, I'm surprised there hasn't been an coverage on the DLX Nemesis Prime (black redeco of Bumblebee Prime) reveal from the recent ACGHK toy show in Hong Kong. The sign says it's going to be up from Pre Order. EDIT: Photo from Tag Hobby
There was some coverage of it but it didn’t get a lot of attention I think. Kind of a bummer as I am a sucker for black convoys lol
Thanks. I wonder if it's because they're might be no market for these kinds of things in the TF scene? That, or, come crunch time, these are the most "superliferous" purchases in a collection (and thus the first to be abstained from).
