From the looks of it Haslab Unicron is meant to be a Siege figure so it makes sense for the greebles to carry over. I think those expecting something different will be disappointed.

We don't really know what Zeta is doing yet, but I would be surprised if it's smaller than their combiners. Big bots are kind of what they do, I'm not convinced with this 45 cm talk.

 

I think detail is scale dependent. Unicron from the movie was covered head to toe in line detailing. After all, he's a planet. All the detailing, spikes etc look like small cities, buildings. I think fo Unicron, this amount of detailing works to help give him that huge scale feeling. Normally I'm the opposite, hate unecessary detailing, here I think it works though.

 

Only thing I can think of is that it might be difficult to transform at a bigger size. Hasbro titans have a simple transformation scheme, the 3p Omegas break into pieces, the Haslab version requires the stand to transform. This might be more problematic in that regard.

 

I REALLY want the Hasbro one for the Planet mode, it looks fricking gorgeous, the robot mode not so much (the leg panels kinda ruin it a bit for me), its also so big I don't know where or how id display it. I'm gonna keep an eye on this, for once I'm not sure I prefer a less greebly design...Unicron is a giant planet, he should look a bit grebbly, he should have all those panel lines (although i think Hasbro went a bot overboard on the face), a smaller version might fit better in my display...so thats cool...but at the same time the size is part of whats impressive about the Hasbro one...it's just that price! Good (Chaos)lord I'm torn.

45cm at the head is just about TR Trypticon height. I wonder if that's top of the horns? Throw in the wings and he could have a wee bit more presence..

If Zeta is actually going to produce this piece, for the next twenty days or do, Zeta should be working 24/7 to make a true prototype that makes the current Haslabs Unicron look like junk, otherwise do not bother. I think most people in this board would buy a G1 movie toon accurate Unicron. Imo, the look of bot mode is the most important, but if the planet mode is screen accurate, some may buy two. Size is nice, anywhere between 36 and 48 inches is good, but if made smaller like the 18 inch rumors, if the piece is like taking Unicron from the movie and placing it in a glass case, most would probably be good with it. I would like Led eyes and rings/wings( from the beginning of the G1 movie, after he eats the planet, and powers up).
