So funny story today. I drove from Salem to Tansbourne area due to my VA Medical appointment, so I stopped by the Target there. I am one who sometimes buy "extra" figures when they are on sale/clearance, in this case, CW Onslaught that I bought few years ago at Ross for a mere $15. My son wanted a SIEGE Galaxy Optimus, but I really don't want to spend another $50 for a figure, so I returned the aftermentioned CW Onslaught and exchanged and paid the difference for a Galaxy Oprimus. I am surprised that my Target App still scans CW Onslaught for $23, which matches their Customer Service Desk scanner. So if you happend to see that CW Onslaught on the shelf of Target Tanasbourne, rest assured that he was sealed in and pristine condition when I traded him. By the way, there were at least 5 Galaxy Optimus and 5 Shockwaves when I left there this morning. Nothing else worth noting as well. No Springer, Rainmakers, or Refractors.
New store Blue Bag Collectibles at 106 1st st. in Silverton has a Seige Jetfire. Center st. Target in Salem has a Seige Springer and a lot of leader class Shockwaves. Also a galaxy upgrade Optimus. Lancaster Walmart has no signs of soundwave reissue and one of the Optimus Prime reissues.
Anyone ever been to Heros and Hobbies, by Beaverton Central? Tried to visit, saw it wasn't open till 4:30 for some reason, did some other stuff for a few hours and came by again at 5:30. Still closed. Looked the place up, and it seems an equal mix of one star and five star reviews
It's been a while since I've gone but you're best bet is to go at night. The owner keeps weird hours.
Thanks for the tip. I am hoping that Springer will be there when I get there. He is still on preorder status according to my Target redcard preorder. Really bugging me whe these figures are on store but not online at Target.
^ This. The guy is basically only open whenever he feels like it. As far as I can tell, there are no "regular" hours. I've passed by it closed during peak shopping hours and open at like 11pm. The only way you can tell is by the 'open' sign. I've only been in the place once or twice and between the weird hours, the high prices(IIRC) and the 'why are you here' kind of looks I got from the owner, it isn't a place I ever really want to go back to. I seem to remember other board members having negative experiences there too, but I don't remember the details, so take that with a grain of salt.
Yeah I've always wondered about that... He obviously doesn't do it for the business to make actual $ maybe he's just showing off his own collection or something. Knowing no one will really buy the stuff he has out.
I have not been to Heroes and Hobbies in a long time...like years, particularly after I moved away from that part of town. He holds very weird hours and like others mentioned, he opens when he feels like it. I have stories about that place but I choose not to share them online.
I'm long gone from the Portland area, but that dude was a douche. Shocked he's still in biz. Good luck finding rainmakers.
Thanks. They were a ton of work for many years. Even though I have a good-sized collection of that trine but having that set would be nice. If I ever find them in the store, I would probably break down and cry happy tears.
Grew up going to that place pretty frequently. The original owner was amazing. The new owner...runs it a little different. If (they’re actually open and) you can navigate the mess, you can find some neat things. Maybe. But bring cash.
Little late on the reply (love checking in on my buddies to the south every now and then). If you are still toying with it, I would be interested in Stomp/Sludge to complete my set. I am up in Puyallup, but will likely be in Portland for a day this weekend (not sure where you are located).
G1 Cassettes at Wood Village Walmart. No Soundwave on the shelf yet though. asked an employee to check the back and no luck. Would appreciate any help in acquiring Soundwave. I missed out on Starscream and Devastator, never saw em on the shelf and didnt want to pay flipper prices. really dont want to miss out on this too.
