I want it because it's Wheeljack, but I know these Metal Earth kits suck.

This right here is fucking proof that you can adapt the G1 designs into the real world and they work just fine.

Since we're talking about TRANSFORMERS here, something that transforms is automathically way cooler than something wich doesn't.

Yes and have something that is blockier and more cube shaped than the vintage toy form 40 years ago ... and with a ton of totally unnecessary greeebles, because "realism" on a fictional carachter.

So Lancia/Alitalia licensed this too? That's weird, especially since it's an Action Master.

    ...that can't even pose.

That looks sweet. Sometimes it's Alitalia on his foot and sometimes it's Autobots. That's a big difference.

I had a few of the Star Wars kits, and I couldn\'t even build one. The damn tabs would bend repeatedly until they broke off, and my fingers looked like I ran a cheese grater over them. It was pretty frustrating. I can build Zoids and other plastic model kits, so I\'m not completely useless.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering---are there two different options, or has the licensing situation changed re: Alitalia between sample and production? (either they gained it, and swapped from "Autobots" to "Alitalia" or they didn't get it, and had to change from Alitalia to Autobots)

Photos of in-hand built copies, seem to always show "Autobots". So I'm guessing Alitalia didn't grant a license, which kind of kills it for me, since the entire overall livery of the car, is Alitalia's---even the angles of the stripes are their tailfin's design. (plus, I'd be very disappointed at buying an officially licensed Wheeljack, that shows Alitalia on the packaging, only for it to NOT actually have the Alitalia markings)

::edit:: Hmmn, the pics of the in-hand built one, are from a couple months ago---maybe it was a built-up sample/test release? Maybe final release versions do say Alitalia. Either way, the MU-brand ones are way too expensive to buy without knowing for certain how it's printed.

It's the big trend among these things. Ironically, Metal Earth (the #1 brand for these types of models) is last to do so---pretty much everyone else did it first and they are only just now released a few colored ones. MU's Shockwave is on my want-list:
