Wow. and it's just for 2 figures, right?

That's crazy. The mini vehicles are like $11.97 and are bigger pieces than each individual cassette.

    Ebay:
The cassettes generally have more parts and chrome bits. They'd be more expensive to make. $30 is a too much though.

When I went looking for Soundwave just yesterday, I saw pegs full of Bumblebee, Gears & Warpath and damn near full shelves of Optimus (still at full price which is weird) at 2 Walmart's. In Calgary. I had no idea Warpath or Gears were that hard to find. I would buy them if I knew that ALL the S1/2 minibots were also getting released, but...

Yeah that's not parts-pricing. That's more of their idiotic nostalgia-pricing.

That's why I'm laughing pretty hard watching that trailer-less Prime bottom out at $30 online and at various stores vs. the $70 they were stupidly trying to sell it for this whole time.

They also come with weapons, unlike 95% of the Minibots (Outback being an outlier).

I also like to thank Dersetdog. If it weren't for the picture of his receipt, I would never have found mine.

I heard from many sightings in Canada that Soundwave is unable to be scanned for barcode or ringed up.

As much as I want this figure, I can't stand that it looks like the instructions are just loose behind the figure. It seems sloppy and lazy. Hasbro couldn't have taped them to the plastic behind the image of Soundwave? Also, a backing would have been nice so that it's not just plain cardboard behind the figure.

Went to two Walmarts in Surrey. No Soundwaves. Lots of Primes and bumblebees.

Did manage to snag the last Gears and Warpaths though! The Autobot army grows!

Checked three Walmarts in Winnipeg. First had no g1, but did have an empty peg for minibots.
Second had nothing, didn't notice any price tags on the shelves.
The third and newest had several Primes many Tailgate and a couple Swerves. Might pay more attention to this store

Don't know if I should really bother hunting for the Cassettes. They are expensive.

I checked ebay to see what Canadian sellers are asking for (over $100). I saw there was one seller from Winnipeg asking for like $320. :s

I'm guessing that's the price per pair.

I haven't seen either the pegs or the tags for the cassettes or Soundwave east of Alberta.
