One thing I have never complained about with Hasbro going back over the years is QC. Never had an issue with them there. And the Sail Barge turned out good so there is a HasLab review at least.

Enjoy the opportunity, this huge toy is awesome and a very good thing. It would never happen at retail. Unless maybe TRU was still around.

Quality control and design flaws are the dominant issues people have had with Hasbro products. I used to have good luck, but now my Jessica Drew has splotchy paint, my Ironhide's hips are extremely loose out of the box, Elita-1 can't pose in Combiner form without collapsing and Hound's ankle articulation doesn't even work correctly. These are just personal examples; there are a few widespread quality control issues already brought up in this thread. Then, there's stuff like Starscream's chest coming off easily and Weirdwolf's cockpit snapping off.

The Sail Barge is not the same thing as Unicron. It's a playset, this is a figure. Not to mention that it's literally not the same toy. Other lines generally have way less opportunity to screw up than Transformers do because Transformers need to transform and have a lot more parts to deal with. Saying that the Barge's reviews apply to Unicron is like saying Marvel Legends Hulk's reviews apply to Studio Series Dropkick's.

I have decided to back this.I know the risks that comes with Unicron but will we get another official Unicron, that is a tough question.I love everything about this figure minus the kibble but I am not going to display this thing backwards so that won't be a issue sure there is some kibble in the side near the front but that is pass.Ok how hard does it take to make a near perfect sphere that can transform?
I am glad that international fans now can be able to get this guy but it's kinda outrages in the price but I get it.I really hope Unicron get backed and encourage people to support it.If you don't like it that's fine it's your choice.

I backed this a few days in. Silly that I didn't look online all weekend. I will never stop kicking myself for not getting the Star Wars sail barge. Yes, this is expensive. Yes, this is huge. It isn't for everyone. Not everyone can afford it and not everyone has room for it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm on the side that this is so cool! The SDCC videos look amazing. This thing is not to scale and never will be. It is planet-size! This will be the tallest TF yet and by far the beefiest. Just judge it on the weight. 19lbs. That's crazy. From my collection, Devastator is the tallest and it don't weigh anywhere near what Unicron will be. This is a lot of money. No one can dispute that, yet it isn't unrealistic given the prices of things (toys, collectibles, etc) released today. There are several polystone TF statues up for sale/pre-sale right now that are well over a grand each. As a one-time run, there is little chance this would lose value. As mentioned in another thread, I have no clue, yet, how to display this. Plenty of time to figure that out. At this moment I'm simply happy to provide my backing and my money...we will all see what happens come the end of August.

I really hope this gets to it's goal.I have pre order it and back it today and well I am glad to be one of those backers but since 3P Zeta is now wanting to make one it feels that people are going to buy that one and have the crowdfunding for the official one die.Plus if the official one die then well that's it no more Unicron for official. To anyone who collect 3P Transformers I do not have any issues with y'all and I do respect your opinions and collecting but a person who is like me who strictly collect official Transformers this is a once in a lifetime event.

Unicron is helping me finally get my arse in gear and get rid of some of the figures I bought to army build years ago. I don't have the room to build the army I bought, some are still sealed so I should be able to recoup enough money to cover this guys and my wife will be happy to see all these boxes go away, lol.

Nothing exciting I'm afraid, bunch of Ramjet's from the TFCC and stuff like that (mentioning to avoid hundreds of PMs,.lol) but I thought I'd bring this up as I'm sure many of us have a chunk of old collection that if we're honest we don't really need any more. Sell on and the chaos bringer could bring a little less chaos :D

He doesn't get made? Well, you've still cleaned out some space :)

Heck yeah!! I got to see the painted prototypes in person at SDCC, and then I got to see the unpainted prototype at the small Hasbro reception. This looks incredible and I am an enthusiastic backer.

Anything can happen in 30+ days. I was a bit concerned the barge wouldn’t funded. I put my funds in 5 days till the campaign ended.

So I wonder how many people are on the fence and waiting till the time is almost up to see how many backers there are? Like, “oh crap, it’s 8/31 at 11:58 and there’s 7,999 backers!? I guess I’ll take one for the team and make this thing happen!”
Cuz I’ll be honest, that’s where I’m at. I feel bad though because what if that’s where like 6,000 potential backers are at?

Could be the case for the final 6,000. Frankly, though, it's not the hesitant's responsibility to make it happen, it's the job of those that already backed this to get out there and help promote and convince all of those "maybes" to commit and get this thing backed.

I mean everyone who went to SDCC and took their selfies with the prototype should already be posting those pictures and saying "come on, guys, we want this, let's make it happen!"

Maybe if it fails they will go back to the drawing board and make it smaller and less expensive. That fixes my two biggest problems with it - size and price.

I will most likely give in and back it.

...that said, I have my doubts about it's success. I really hate to be "that guy," but I do want to be realistic. And I am not convinced this is realistic.

I bought Jabba's Sail Barge and Super 7's Snake Mountain. It has become more of an issue of room at this point. If it gets close to being funded I'll probably order one to help it out, but it has to be no for me right now.
