No it would be smarter to release a character like sideswipe as a character in high demand but hasn’t been tackled yet

Why are people acting fatigued over this design like we don't get a new version of G1 Prime every 6 months? To some, especially those who grew up with the movies, this design is just as iconic. And this looks like the best version yet.

"Why do we need TE-01 or MP44? We already have MP-01, we don't need anything better than that."

Thats assuming those that are saying they are fatigued of this arent fatigued of g1 primes... if they are (like I am) then.... what exactly is the argument here? saying there's fatigue in other lines thus it's ok doesn't really work...

These are all independent companies and designers working on their own, they're not under some umbrella corp making decisions together. MPM-4 is clearly a money maker, hence why there are so many. If one company does it, and it goes well, the rest will follow suit. That's the trend.

If they have money, they'll have the time and resources to then make their own original design. Even then, what's to say they're even able to make their own design? All they're doing is modifying an existing figure, which took a TEAM of people to design with years in the working. These Chinese designers don't really have the luxury that Hasbro and Takara do. They're mostly free-lancers who have their designs bought, they're not employed full-time to make these things.

Unique toys started their movie masterpieces with Prime, that went well, then they were able to do Lockdown and are now working on Megatron. Granted, they're designs different from the original trilogy, but Prime was their first because he sells. ToyWorld is entering the movie masterpiece market too, both their first MP figures are both going to be Prime.

These 3P modifiers aren't as prolific as Unique Toys or ToyWorld to be able to make something original. The only thing these companies have going are OS'ing and KO'ing with light modifications and new paint jobs. Hell, a lot of original designs are ultimately scrapped like the CAD of an MP Jazz and MP DOTM Megatron who had a prototype then never saw the light of day ever again.

From a business stand-point, it's better to have a financial safety net first before doing something you don't know will work or ever be finished. I believe the DOTM Megatron was being worked on by TF Dream Factory, same people who've done original molds for the wreckers I believe, doesn't seem like those molds didn't sell well either but that's just my observation. Sideswipe would sell well, but at that point, who would bite the bullet? I didn't even know Devcon was in the movie.

The frustrations over having many MPM-4s in the market is misplaced on this poor designer who wants to have his own take at it - since for a lot of 3Ps, this is a passion project for them. If you don't count the straight OS KOs, you really have four modified MPM-4 molds. Wei Jiang's, the two BMB versions and this. The MP-10 mold was also something that was milked to death by both Hasbro/Takara and 3Ps, but if people are buying them you can't take that away from them.

That’s true asf! Unique Toys actually started with Peru Kill aka Lockdown first tho which actually did well and gave them the money to do better on Challenger aka Optimus.

And here i am wondering why no 3P company has taken a crack at the Fallen yet? or Sentinel Prime? I'm starting to get Prime fatigue, be it G1 or Movie.

    What an absolutely spectacular misinterpretation.

If it's really that confusing for you, I'll re-word it:
I'd rather there be several attempts at each figure, resulting in the best possible rendition of each figure, than have a full collection of okay-at-best figures.

It's probably the same reason as no-one taking a shot at Shockwave, not once did Fallen ever shown that he had an alt mode. As for Sentinel, yeah, he's never had a toy since DOTM. Too bad there's only a handful of 3Ps that are willing and able to make original molds.

The only two 3Ps that would do them are either Unique Toys or ToyWorld, maybe Zeta if they continue pursuing the movie line. 3Ps that modify or OS KO/repaint existing molds shouldn't be expected to do something like that. It's not in their resume.

Unique toys hasn't shown anything for their Megatron in a while - not counting DX9 Hotrod collab - and ToyWorld hasn't released any of their Primes yet. Zeta has shown 3D renders and gray prototypes of VW Bee, but progress is slow.

I think the KO companies are just waiting for thr Studio Series Fallen drop.

But I have no idea why nobody's upscaled the leader Sentinel mould

Totally agree. It's like G1 prime eternally has a new MP style figure in the works, iterating on the design. Mp-01, mp-10, toyworld primorion, magic Square, transform element, MP-44. Hell you could even argue generation toy op-ex and g-creation maxmus fit the bill too. Movie prime has mpm-5 and a few KO's, all building upon a leader class figure from 2009. I'd love to see a figure designed from the ground up.

Though as I said, seems to be just a custom so I doubt it gets made. Gives me faith in a UT version or something maybe one day absolutely nailing it

Some people move on [and accept BA Prime as definitive], but not us.
    Not us.

It seems to me like an iteration of MPM, like BA's with different approaches of some kibble but basically the same

Reading the taibu page, it's all completely original, he used the 4EVER model as reference, it rather seems to share some engeenering with the MPM.
