Bro, I get you have some beef with the designs, but have you ever heard the phrase "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Yeah, we get it, you and a loud minority of the fandom hate the Bay designs. You don't have to tell us every time you get the chance.

100% this. It's why I loved the Bayverse designs from the start. Think of how complex the human body is, then extrapolate that to race built completely on the ability to move the molecules of their bodies around. It's also why I loved the oddball designs from RotF. The designers let their ideas run wild, and the results were awesome.

I believe a quote from the Master Shake sums it up.

It can't be right that his head is supposed to be so exposed like that for combined mode can it?

For such a simple looking toy, he is actually quite complex. I see the head is very detailed and even the little T-rex arms are moveable.
So wait, he also has another claw arm... attached to his head? Odd.
I do wish he had a proper hook too. And maybe some wrecking balls for Devastator... ;)

This design is just so weirdly appealing that I just can't bring myself to dislike it. It's got an air of pragmatism to it, usually more befitting of a mech suit than a traditional Cybertronian. And yet, for a construction unit, that makes complete sense that he'd be more function driven. Hightower isn't the guy you send into combat, he's the guy who stays behind, fortifying the base and transporting materials. Every fiber of his being is dedicated to his job. He's a robot crane and he likes it! I like to imagine him as a construction foreman, waving his tiny vestigal arms in frustration as he bellows commands to his subordinates.

I actually don't think most of the designs of Bayverse transformers are particularly good. Interesting yes, but interesting doesn't mean GOOD. That being said, I like many Bayverse designs BECAUSE of how frankly terrible and oddball they look. Rampage is definitely one of them. He's disgustingly stupid and there is literally no world in which he has any advantage over anything with two or more legs. Legs is stability. It's a base. It's the ability to brace and stabilize yourself...everything that Rampage cannot actually do. But I will certainly say he's pretty cool in that crazy oddball way. Plus I don't watch these movies for realism anyways.

But yeah, can't wait for Hightower. I always liked him since the ROTF Legends because he's that guy who looks so fucking stupid that I love it.

Whats really crazy about him is that not only can his leg act like a pogo(and literally makes a boing noise in the movie), but that when he stands still/moves around he slithers like a snake.

Those are two complete opposite extremes there for one thing to do.

He might be a little strange looking in robot mode but it's not all that bad when you think that one of this teammates is a giant pogo stick with arms and another has two large treaded wheels for a body. That being said, I've actually been intrigued with Hightower's robot mode ever since the ROTF Legends Class combiner set and I'm glad we are getting a larger version. I saw that they were out at US retail and so I'm going to grab Hightower just as soon as I see him.

It's funny, I swore when they announced a Studio Series Combiner Devastator that I was not going to get him. Yet as of Monday, I'll have 3 of the components and as soon as I find Hightower, that will make four. I might as well go ahead and get the other three since I'll be over halfway there.

I ran into a problem with mine but I fixed it
The grey joint that is circled in the image would not stay together in vehicle mode due to the outer part spreading slightly so I did the second pic to fix it I took my left twist 1/64 drill set and drilled the posts out to take a 5/32 brass tube
The tube is 11/64 on the end closer to the camera and 5/32 on the far end
