I cannot imagine that BBTS would hold on to that $155 in the event that Unicron doesn't reach the 8,000 threshold. That non-refundable portion is to make sure that BUYERS don't back out. But if the project isn't funded at all, I'm pretty confident BBTS won't keep that money. That's just not what that "non-refundable" language is about.

Two very good points. I don't run an on-line toy store so I don't know all the logistics of it, but for all we know they could have had the staff working over time during SDCC and they need to recover that loss.

Exactly. They wont let you just walk in and swap them on the shelf. It's unbelievable how many people think there is a 1/1 exchange of things, especially if theyre not bought from the same retailer.

Uh... read the description. They state that if Unicron isn't made they refund the 150.

that $155 deposit is basically a 2 year hold. buyers from bbts wont have to pay the additional $620 till its ready to ship, at least based on how their preorders usually work

That's understood, but my point holds.

Although I AM trying to think through how much interest on $600 (for those who don't pay it off immediately... as everyone really ought to, but not everyone CAN) would be in two years... but I still don't see it getting to be high enough to be worth the extra that BBTS is charging (again, speaking just for those in the US who have the Hasbro Pulse option).

    Unicron BBTS.png

For those complaining about this here is the actual screenshot.

BBTS is stating this: preorder through us if you are some place Pulse doesn't deliever OR if you can't afford him right now. We take $150 from you and that is Nonrefundable UNLESS Unicron doesn't get made. Then we refund the money.

They are saying the 150 is nonrefundable because they don't want a bunch of people to make fake orders just to ensure it gets made and then cancel Unicron orders from them save for their one. IE, I really want Unicron so I order 8000 from BBTS then cancel all buy 1 once he is greenlit.

It's not some evil scheme, people. It's not BBTS trying to steal money. Take 2 seconds to read over the page and it is clear.

Had the same thing happen as well. Though it did take four months or so to actually get the item.

I think they're asking about those things for their own quality control/research purposes. For the codes, they can tell if it was a bad batch or just an isolated incident. I've never gotten the age or gender thing before, but it probably also goes into how they determine what suggested age range to put on toys or how to market them. If, say, men over 35 keep breaking things, but girls under 10 rarely do, it may affect how they market or manufacture future product.

I believe they ask the age and gender so if your item isn't in stock, they will replace with something of equal or lesser value you may like. In the case of Marvel Legends, I know they sent some people those less-articulated Titan toys as a "replacement" for a bum Legends figure that was "no longer in stock".

Or its for actual data to know their products dont have a major flaw. Also making sure you didnt give a toy deigned for 10+ to a toddler and then complained it broke.

Well I'll be dropping mine off at the post office tomorrow. Let's hope it doesn't take that long.
That makes sense to me. It was still a bit of a curveball.

They did say I would receive something of similar value if they didn't have a replacement in stock. I'm hoping they do. I don't collect anything except Transformers.

If you're trying to get a replacement Dropkick, I'm sure they have plenty of stock of him to send to you. If you're trying to get a replacement for something else, I'm sure they have plenty of stock of Dropkick to send to you.

LOL. If they really want that Unicron to sell like hotcakes, they should list "devours aisles of peg-warmed Dropkicks" as an action feature.

has anyone gotten their Lancer order fulfilled yet? they charged my card but no indication of it being shipped. checked my HP account, "Paid" but "Unfulfilled" Since this is my first order since the switch from Toy Shop to Pulse, so I'm not sure what to expect. I suppose its due to the influx of so many orders at one time from the SDCC reveals...

This is the boat we're all in so far, and I'd wager your supposition is correct. But since yours is marked as "paid" you can pretty much be sure you will get one.
