Biggest problem I have with the sleeker look, they tend to be "shell" formers, on the voyager class at least, like sideburn from RID 2000. Masterpiece or even leader class have higher budgets, are more intricate, and with masterpiece are going more for show or animation accuracy in both modes as much as possible and have a higher price.

Sleek, blocky designs. Definitely not what they are putting out in Siege.

    Why not both?

I think it really depends on what they transform into. Optimus Prime I think looks better more blocky because his vehicle mode is essentially a box on wheels.

There are other characters though that I think should have a more sleek redesign as it really doesn't make sense why they're made of blocks. Beastformers for example... even the more robotic ones... don't need to have blocky designs. Transformers Cybertron had some really good robotic looking beastformers that looked robotic while also giving them more natural look proportions.

That seems to be more of a thing of the past where making something look robotic just meant make it blocky. A lot of older robots in science fiction were very blocky looking with not a lot of detail but now days robots seem to mostly look normal with a lot or tech detailing. For Transformers though I think it just depends what they transform into. Blocky vehicles should make blocky robots. Sleek vehicles should make sleek robots.

I iike both, personally. Ideally, I think some of the best designs combine elements of both sleek and blocky.

The only blockiness i don't like is the rectangle legs that are literally just blocks with feet pasted on the bottom. I don't like any designs with that aesthetic. It's lazy. Otherwise i don't mind a mix

    G1 logic
    Females: Sleek
    Males: Blocky

Nowadays characters are more sleek and skinny, and like blocky and bulky. I feel the blocky style is a bit dated, and I more prefer the sleek designs to show the Transformers are agile and aren't top heavy.

Both. Certain figures work as chunky/blocky. Like Optimus. Others work great as sleek, like Rodimus. And some can pull off both.

Having a diversity to design in TF gives them a life like background much like humans.

Autobots from Cybertron were blocky, but TF that immigrated to another Galaxy evolved into something else.

Having them all sleek or blocky would be stupid.

Whichever one works for the character. Optimus and Ironhide should be blocky. Hot Rod and Sideswipe should be sleeker. Blurr should be super sleek.

I think it depends on the individual character, as well as the series. To an extent, it should depend on what type of vehicle they turn into (a good example is Bumblebee movie Bee vs Optimus Prime).

If we're talking about a series-by-series basis, I prefer blocky. Although they don't have to be quite as blocky as the G1 robots. My main concern is that they don't look too skinny and lanky. Looking at you, first Bay trilogy and TF Prime. Sometimes it works with an aesthetic like Animated though.

This is a really deep question that delves in to the psyche to reveal the subconscious preference of people’s responses. In a nutshell:
Blocky equates to whole lot of woman / man / transgender / other.
Sleek... I don’t need to spell it out for you.

I guess you could say lean towards blocky? The main thing I like in Transformers is noticable chunks of altmode. I love when panels fit together to form the outer shell of a bot and their altmode. That's why the designs in Bumblebee were so appealing to me. Not too busy, but not as blocky as G1.

Another non Transformers example would be the older renditions of Ironman when his armor was formed by interlocking plates. The nanotech is cool I guess, but it's really not my taste.
