On Klaatu, did you just happen to get lighting just right that helps make the upper and lower leg yellows look like the same shade of yellow or did XTB fix that on the final product compared to the preview photos?

The shades are very *slightly* different but it's nowhere near as obvious as some of the photos of previous versions imply. Same goes for the yellow legs on Neptune. The bigger shame, imho, is the bare plastic face on Klaatu, especially as Naptune's is painted, but having said that I still think this little guy is ace.

The metallic paints on both are stunning. If it's of any use the blue on Neptune reminds me of the paint on Binaltech Smokescreen or MP Tracks.

Easily one of XTB's best releases to date! The only tricky part is trying to open up the indented white parts at the waist (which allows the abdomen to compress). I've had to use a spudger for that section, but other than that the transformation is a breeze! I love the look, the belly proportions and overall sculpt are what I wanted from this character. Easily a far more accurate representation than FT's V1 for my tastes. He is surprisingly tall though, about an inch shorter than an MP car bot to the head. Overall I'm quite happy and can check this character off the list.

The height really threw me. Now I'm hoping that Fanstoys Warpath is around the same height otherwise he'll look too small. Likewise I think the DX9 Powerglide is actually too small now so fingers crossed Fanstoys or X-Transbots step up with their own.

To anyone that has him, how does he scale next to Arkose?

I needed to straighten out the legs that's all

Absolutely. I feel XTB have massively improved and are on par with Fanstoys

Open up? You just had to press it down then together to compress the body. Dig you dig yours out or am I missing something? 598 Robots instructional video didn't use a spudger

When opening up, aka sliding the chest back apart from bot to alt mode is the step I'm referring to. Basically trying to get those 2 little white flaps opened up and back into place. I'm sure you don't need a spudger but I can barely get my fingers in there.

In contrast, I hope FT's Warpath and Seaspray v2 are both closer in height to XTB Klaatu and DX9 Powerglide so the entire team can be more consistent and also scale better with the existing Arkose Beachcomber, Huffer Huff, Gears Grump, Boost Windcharger and Brawny Brawn, rather than starting or following a new trend of one recent release in a taller scale when we're already more than 3/4 of the way through the MP minibots. Don't pull a Takara and screw us all.

Fair. Apart from MP-21 I'm just starting down the minibots route but I love the size of Neptune.

I have them both, but in boxes right now. I'll break them out when I have a moment to confirm, but I did see them at TFCon last week, and I believe they are roughly the same height, though Seaspray is a bit pudgier.

Man I can’t wait for this guy but I have him ordered at TFSource (to ship with some other stuff in my stack) and they still predict “dec ‘19 arrival”. Hope that gets updated

I'm normally all in on Fanstoys season 1/2/movie releases but they dropped the ball hard on Spindrift. With any hope X-Transbots are making them up their game as I think their dominance had them assuming folks would buy anything they released.

Yep, FT Seaspray is tiny. I felt that we were kind of misled by FT on that release. FT's V2 has to be a complete retool and reboot, because there's no way they can slightly refit V1 with the changes they are looking for.
