Are there any shareholder perks for owning Hasbro stock? Any info is appreciated. (Don't know if I posted in the right area, mods please move if necessary.)
There's the shareholders call I think you're entitled to call into, you might get some annual reporting information they're legally required to send out to shareholders, but at the end of the day I bet its a function of how many shares you hold, and one or a few isn't going to get you much. I don't think they issue dividends, though the stock price has gone up by like 20% in the last few years (not sure how that scales with the market overall), albeit in a very up and down manner. If you owned a huge amount of stock you could probably vote on board members and potentially drive corporate decision making, but I don't think that's what you're talking about here. I think there's a few shareholders on the boards, they can probably provide more accurate/specific information.
I'm not asking about board privileges, decision making, or anything of the sort. I'm asking about perks. Many companies offer perks for owning stock like discounts, coupons, free items, etc. To give a better example. My electric company gives 2% off my bill for owning stock with the company. General Mills sends me free cereal a few times a year for owning their stock.
Short Answer - No. No investor discounts - Depending on the shares you hold you might get previews of upcoming products, but you would be under a NDA- non Disclosure Agreement during the time the item is not in mass retail.
Actually if owned stock, you might get to vote on corporate officers. I have shares in the local power utility corporate overlord. I get a voting form every year.
You need to own a % of stock for Direct votes, where as Open votes are open to those with any amount of stock. A guy who owns 200 shares can't be given the rights of someone who owns %5 of total public shares.
I’ve owned one share of Hasbro for almost a decade. I get to vote on some things once a year or so, but nothing terribly important. Can’t even remember what the last one was about.
I have a couple of shares in Hasbro and Disney. I get to vote on some things, but it’s more a formality than anything. But to the perks you’re thinking of, like getting an exclusive Transformer or voting on if IDW should keep the license, or free access to a Disney park or free movie screenings.... no, you don’t get those.
If we all pool our resources we can buy the majority of shares and have a TFW hostile takeover. You guys down?
If you could get discounts on toys by owning shares people would have figured it out long ago. I’m down for a little hostile takeover.
