I'm mildly annoyed that they put IDW accurate(ish) Impactor in a multipack with two TFs I'm not that interested in (iT sLaP iN fAcE oF aN fAnS!1!), the Weaponiser looks pretty cool but considering I've already preordered retail Impactor and wouldn't have a use for clear Mirage I'm not about to drop that much dolla on a multipack.

 

Kinda want to pass on regular impactor now and get the 3 pack, a regular Mirage to compliment it.

 

To me Seige is good BECAUSE it builds on and goes along with the prior lines so well. We play wioth them with the CW, TR and POTOP stuff and they fit right in just a tad bit premium feeling when you play with them.

 

Yeah, putting the better Impactor in the pack was a bad move. (See:my sig)

 

Wonder if we get some solid details on the Rainmaker pack today (and the micromasters, if you're into that), now that they're out in the display case...

Impactor to me seems like one of the oddest releases since they made so many almost identical versions of the likes of Sideways back in the old Live Action Movie toyline's early days. I can see more justification for the Last Knight Battle Damaged toys they had in very limited numbers being a full retail item than something that similar so close on the heels of the original.

I look at the available moulds and I just think... Well Crasher/Fracture makes more sense to me and so would a Grand Maximus complementing Cog repaint or even a Six Gun repaint for Metro Titan - (unless they are saving that for a future crowd funding idea - and a Micromaster and Six Gun Repaint would be the incentive. The advantage of both being that it gives you another colour of Decepticon armour sets out of those repaints too.

 

Maybe a dumb question but the Cog repaint is just a repaint, right? It's still a full weaponizer?

My point honestly is that all three lines have good figures. Siege has good figs dont get me wrong but cw and tr had tons of good figs too. I really dont like how people talk about siege like cw and TR were a huge mistake thats all. Like i dont care one bit for siege magnus because i think cw magnus is awesome aside from being terrible at holding his weapon. I prefer the transformation scheme, how his truck mode replicates the g1 truck mode and all that. I have zero compulsion to buy siege springer because god damn t30 springer is just mindblowing still. I really hope siege springer gets a repaint into deadlock or something. I have some siege figs that i absolutely love like soundwave, shockwave and cog.. but yeah siege has good stuff but the whole line doesnt invalidate things that came before.

I know what budgeting is. but budgeting doesn't make these toys look any better. its just the reason why they look so shitty.

 

I’d rather have toys that actually resemble the original Powerdashers instead of this three pack “fan choice”.

A three pack of Siege Mirage, Takara Nosecone and Takara Sonic Bomber repainted as the Powerdashers would have been much more welcome than a random repaint of Cog.

It's sad how the quality of the toys has gone so downhill since Potp.
The siege toys just don't have what made CW and TR so great.
And with all the battle damage it takes even more away from the toys.
Even Skyfire who is so awesome since it's the first time we got an actual Skyfire toy and he is really great is completely hollow and full of gaps.
