Yes, the legs are on the wrong sides and he is missing the larger cassette sticker that has the 0...1...10 indicator below the tape wheels.

 

It's a moot point anyway, the actual in package samples from SDCC have a correctly assembled Frenzy with all the stickers.

Question! I know they've done reissues of Dial/Dairu and Saur/Zauru recently, but they were differently colored and/or transparent. Has there yet been an official reissue of those two in the original colors?

 

There were two sets: one had normal-colours Dial and negative-colours transparent Saur, the other had normal-colours Saur and negative-colours transparent Dial.

So you can get both of them in their original colours, but you have to buy two separate boxsets to do so.

 

That is truly evil.

I ordered 2 of these, because that Dino art is too awesome to risk damaging upon opening. (I heard there's a trick Hot Wheels guys use, dabbing nail polish remover around the back of the card along the glued area to pop the blister off, but I haven't been brave enough to try it yet.)

That's awesome news about Dail and Zaur getting Wave 2! I already managed to get each of the Bumblebee sets "damaged box" off EE for $45 apiece. So it all balances out. Haha.

I think it's stupid that the names for the Dinos were kept in Japanese! At least use the proper English spellings!

But for my personal collection, I'd count them as Masterpiece and they'd all be renamed to have audio pun names:

  • Dial- Pteranodon
  • Noise - Allosaurus

• Volume formed from:
  • Bass- Iguanodon
  • Treble- Brontosaurus

 

The one thing I didn't like about the recent official Dial and Zaur reissues was how the legs and a few other pieces were metal painted black. The black paint started scraping off immediately in a few spots just from transformation. I hope they can use a different method to paint those parts, or just make the parts out of black plastic. The KOs from a few years ago used plastic for those parts, and it works well.

There were a few other minor problems with the mold that could be ironed out too, just to make them line up and snap into each mode a little tighter.

Looking at the pictures of these new ones, I can't tell if they used metal or plastic.

 

I got an email from them right after I placed the order, which says this:

"We are getting your order ready to be shipped. We will notify you when it has been sent."

Their website says the approximate ship date is 09/08 though. But I'll happily take them sooner than that! We'll see what happens.
