Super intimidating, chunky, has just the right amount of detail and is a relatively faithful take on the source material.
Starscream's design is criminally underrated in my opinion. It's amazing how he's able to exude such menace in one moment, then shrink down to a sniveling sycophant in the next. Not to mention the excellent head design. Sure it's not very orthodox, but it's got such character to it that I just can't dislike it!
he's one of the few designs that I can honestly say if I saw as a real machine I'd be filled with dread and fear.
I can't pick just one. There were so many good one's. My favorites were the constructicons and their combined form. Would love to see extra bonus scenes including them someday.
I may not be a huge fan of the Byformer films but I am a bit of a fan of Optimus Prime's design from the first 3 films. I miss this design.
Most of the Bayverse designs were cool - only a few were actual stinkers, like the Twins, and even they're only ruined by the head designs. Of particular note: The Decepticons in general: I just love their bestial, monstrous aesthetic. Particular standouts include Bonecrusher, Longhaul (so good it got his fan designer a job), the Dreads, Shockwave, Nitro Zeus, Rampage, Laserbeak, RotF Soundwave. Sideswipe: I feel like he would have made a better Drift than the Drift we got. AoE Optimus: I love the knightly aesthetic and feel like it fits him perfectly. Yeah, he could use more vehicle kibble, but that's a minor complaint. Sentinel Prime: he's an awesome bridge between the early, complicated design philosophy and the later, simplified designs. TLK Megatron: for a Megatron in the worst Bay movie, he made out like a bandit. Non-movie designs like Mindwipe and Skystalker also stand out. I'd love to see future Seekers based on Skystalker.
My top 5: 5. Rampage: love it only because it's unique 4. Soundwave (DOTM): like the car, his design looks sleek and futuristic. 3. Lockdown: he looks intimidating and also very athletic and aerodynamic. 2. Optimus Prime (DOTM): the missing red plate on his chest makes it the coolest design of Optimus. 1. Megatron (TLK): a literal beast. Unfortunately, his role in the movie is not as good as his design
It's so hard to choose. I love all of them except for the twins. Jazz is one of the best looking, IMO. I have to give Blackout a mention. The hydraulics in his legs made him feel more real to me...
TF1-3 Optimus Prime - a magnificent design ROTF Megatron - a badass and fearsome tank ROTF Soundwave - the satellite was perfect for this character IMO Ravage - metal cat of death Jetfire - badass Blackbird grandpa Long Haul - imposing and tough truck bot Rampage - pogo-stick whip-wielding bulldozer Devastator - titanic constructicon vortex wielder Shockwave - a sinister cyclops Sentinel Prime - an imperious warrior king Crosshairs - jacket/car cover wearing badass Ironhide - badass gunslinger design Ratchet - wish he was white/red, but otherwise he looks great. I'd have to bring in the more inventive designs as well: Skids and Mudflap - if anyone noticed, their heads resembled the top/bottom half of a normal face. That kind of design struck me as really neat. Dickbot the Blender - he's a Decepticon with a cannon on his dick who transforms from a blender. Outrageous, but also cool in a way.
Yep. Definitely the top two designs for me. To this day I think Bumblebee’s 2007 Camaro design was one of the best Transformers designs.
