I thought it was pretty good. Not a ton of new info but Galaxies sounds great. More thoughts later. Here’s the lineup of stories for the first year of Galaxies:

First four issues are Constructicons and based on what the writer said I’m pretty optimistic about that.

The old man in me that just wants more of what he knows he likes is like, "I DON'T KNOW THESE PEOPLE, GIVE ME AN ESTABLISHED TALENT"

But the artist in me wants to see and read new things. These two beings are at constant war.

I like Kate Leth, so I'll probably give her story a shot.

That's fair- I am increasingly against Transformers comics being a training ground or just a paycheck for creators that aren't in the tank for the property.

Definitely excited for the first two. Not familiar with Brandon Easton, but I'm always down for some Ultra Magnus.

Believe he worked on the not so not MASK relaunch and the Transformers What If thing (I forget what IDW calls them). He seems to be a big TF fan, but I don't think I've been impressed by anything he's really done for IDW this far.

Looks like Cliffjumper will be getting his due finally! He was so underused in the last continuity. Maybe he'll get fleshed out more this time.

So this Galaxies thing is set in this current continuity? And not some separate set of stories altogether?
Basically what I'm trying to ask is, am I gonna need to read all of these to still follow easily what's going on in the current universe?
I'm kinda torn on it either way. I was never a huge fan of the "Spotlight" stuff. But it was important to the former universe's story (perhaps too much) in some cases.

Spotlights gave us Nick Roche, and I think there is a lot of merit to an approach where they do a long ongoing story set in a specific time period while also having self contained stories published alongside, and could be at any point in time with different casts, allowing faster rotation of trademarks, there's talent out there. I have to say I'm really enjoying the worldbuilding approach of the new series.

Hopefully It's not like the old spotlights where you absolute had to read them so you know what's going in the main book and are just fun side stories.

For sure. I mean some I enjoyed. But I much prefer a straight forward story method and really.... The characters they picked to spotlight... Meh?
    Also:
This is definitely what I'm hoping for.

Thirded. The old IDW was so confusing. With that said, they strongly indicated in the panel that the Galaxies stories will be more character explorations and/or will pick up on smaller story strands mentioned in the main book (they specifically referenced Greenlight and Arcee’s mentorship of the new youngest Transformer).

Same here in regard to Brandon familiarity. Otherwise, really excite to see my boy UM in action especially if his white Magnus robot cab makes an appearance also :D :D

Yeah, I've been wondering for a while if they were gonna work that into the comic when he shows up.

I hope it's some kind of wacky 80's sitcom hijinks. "My Two Robot Moms!"
